UCF basketball post season play?

Love these guys, that was incredible!. Especially after the knocking the shot back up through the hoop like we used to do on 8ft rims. Given our long history of sad finishes, couldn’t help feeling like it was going to come down to 2 points and that’d be the difference.

DJ is the man!

This tourney has been much better than the NIT. The NIT has been pounded by everyone for the bad basketball being played. I think Chattanooga won, who?! Haha.

UCF has played phenomenal, DJ has been crazy putting the team on his back. Amazing. Seems like the changed over roster and maybe the NIL $$ has them playing way harder.

Hall is a great player, but I’m almost convinced watching him play at times he was point shaving.

Great game. UCF vs Villanova in OT.

Darius Johnson has been The Man!!!
Hopefully Darius is opening some eyes at the next level. He's strong with the ball and driving to the basket, has greatly improved his 3-point shot, is an excellent FT shooter and can play D. I wouldn't be surprised if he was chosen in Round 2...

Great game today. Congratulations to to the team. Going to be tough with Nebraska having few hours extra rest plus the overtime for us.
It would be nice for UCF BB to get an after season title.
$300K and a championship = lots of adrenaline....but with 8 guys we've got to stay healthy so if anyone is not (especially Darius) it would hurt big time.

Midnight and I just finished the UCF OT game.

woohoo! Wow. What a win.

Warrior Darius Johnson. My man ain’t ready to go home yet!

Caught the final few minutes of Houston’s win over Duke. Another Woohoo! Amazing.

March Madness! Er, April amazings.

I think the NIT could be in trouble in the coming years. With NIL, players would likely want to play in CBC for money.
Only the conferences FOX shows are allowed in it. I like that. Maybe next year up the money a bit and a team like WVU won’t sit out.

It also adds context that WVU lost their head coach to Indiana. I read that some B10, B12, BE teams were contractually obligated to play by FOX. But I’m sure there’s some kind of opt out if you lose your HC. Granted, the same thing happened to Villanova (and they played).

That's my feeling too. Why accept an invite from the NIT if you and your teammates can play in Las Vegas and have a shot at a big payday?

It would be amazing to be the Champion 🏆 of the first ever Crown Tournament. At the same time Houston winning NCAA would be great for Big 12. These would be 2 great outcomes.

Over/under on how many Fluid IV liters Darius took in after that game? 2.5 liters. :p

Gonna be great. Once again I've gotta DVR the game and watch it an hour in the past. I like doing that and being able to fast forward through the commercials.

Women's NCAA Championship South Carolina vs UCONN is on at 3pm today.

See you guys on the other side of the CBC championship game tonight.

Go Knights... GO DARIUS JOHNSON !!!

good piece of hype here from Fox Sports:

What they saw was a jaw-dropping performance from UCF point guard Darius Johnson, who poured in a career-high 42 points to upend the Wildcats in an overtime showcase that ended 104-98 in favor of the Knights. Johnson's clutch 3-pointer with nine seconds left in regulation tied the game and forced the extra session, at which point he single-handedly matched Villanova by scoring 10 points down the stretch, including four consecutive free throws to ice the game.

"It's the first time that this tournament is happening," Johnson said, "so we're making a historic run right now. We're putting our signature on this tournament."

And now the stage is set for what could be an incredible championship game featuring the tournament's two best scorers, Johnson and Nebraska shooting guard Brice Williams. The former has increased his scoring output from 15 points in the opener against Oregon State to 31 points in the quarterfinals against Cincinnati to the aforementioned 42-point outburst against Villanova in the semis. The latter, who ranks ninth nationally in scoring, is averaging 24 points across three games in Las Vegas while shooting nearly 53% from the floor and better than 47% from beyond the arc. Both players possess enough offensive firepower to give their respective teams a chance in nearly every game, especially if their supporting casts perform to the levels seen in the semifinals on Saturday.

"He just stepped back and he hit a tough shot," Villanova interim coach Mike Nardi said. "I mean, it was contested. It wasn't wide open. So we were trying to get to him, but he's just really good. You go and get 42 [points] in a game at this level, I mean, that says a lot about who you are, right?"

That was a good read. This team has taken out Villanova, Cincinnati and Oregon St. I think they can add Nebraska to the list of quality wins.

Well, NOW the season is ovah. fun run. Last night's Overtime game wore the team out. But, they weren't expected to make it that far!

Congrats to Nebraska for The Crown.
loss of Johnson was the killer
