UCF football has never been better as far as financially, ticket sales, and rankings, so..

Look, this USF scheduling thing is just another tool that the powers that be will use against UCF or any other G5 looking to break through to the playoffs. That is why DW is upset about it. DW understands that the true fan base is built from within, not from public opinion. He also understands that for the most part that those teams were not going to offer UCF a 1 for 1 or even a true 2 for 1. Those teams are looking for a way to have an away game that will be an excursion for a bunch of their fans, and that will not happen at Spectrum and UCF UCF is not giving up home games to play at CWS. (Likely their bond loan agreements will not allow it without some kind of consent as the revenues act as security for the bonds).

What USF is doing with scheduling will either be complete bust or great strategic move for USF who is teetering on obscurity. For every other G5 it will be a stick that they are beat with continually as they approach playoff contention.

Marc Daniels said this morn that Aresco said in Memphis he is in favor for 2 for 1's.

just stirring the pot...

"As for the #UCF #USF 2-1 scheduling conversation last week- Aresco sure doesn’t sound opposed to playing 2-1’s going forward. Says #Tulsa and #OSU are an example- TU played 2-1’s forever and recently signed an 8 year 1-1. League discourages buy games in football w/AAC on road"

USF finally found the benefit of not having an OCS. They get a "home" game with some Power 5 teams.

No way Alabama would have accepted if they had an OCS. I would say Florida would have requested the game at Ray Jay and I think Miami would still have done it.

Best you can do as a G5 program is put yourself at or near the top of the list for expansion for when the landscape of the NCAA changes. UCF has done that and now must maintain that status. usf has to shake things up and do a ton of winning to get to that point.

So I guess now that Aresco has created much better Bowl tie-ins for the AAC he is turning his brilliant strategic mind and crack negotiating skills to OOC scheduling.*

Did I miss the "there isn't a P6" statement from Aresco, because that's exactly what he implies with 2-1. Time for him to go. Time for Danny White's twin to run the AAC or at least any non-castrato.

Interesting, Duke seemed to be on the radar in terms of being a possible opponent. With that contract they are now tied up till 2027 as they normally schedule an FCS every year.
