UCF Football: QB Coach McKenzie Milton & Players (4.3.25)

that was cool to hear from all the Qbs.

QB Coach McKenzie Milton
QB Tayven Jackson
QB Dylan Rizk
QB Jacurri Brown
QB Cam Fancher

I like the experience, maturity and size of this QB room compared to the last 2 years. All it lacks is a high ceiling young prospect.

No reason this group can't play 7 win football this year.

Like nite and day between Gus and this group under Milton and Frost.

Milton emphasized attitude and effort.
The new attitude is we are point guards that need to distribute the ball to our playmaker.

What was frustrating to watch as a fan with Gus is it was all about the run game and when the QB had to pass they seemed to look for primary receiver and sucked at doing reads for open receivers.

Back to the future in QB room. Hope it pans out like before. At least we won't be groaning sitting in the stands because of new attitude and a better effort at playing the position not like a high school QB position.

For us old timers it was difficult watching the QB position under GOL and Gus. It was a lot more fun under Frazier and Frost. Huepel was better as well but had problems with running game.

I think the difference between Malzhan and Frost is that the coaching style is more positive and upbeat with Frost. 'Bonehead' plays are met with a laugh and encourage to get better with the Frost regime, whereas, with Gus, it was a get yelled at and humiliated. Just an observation. How many times did we see Gus curse out a player on the sideline coming off a bad play? Many times. It's a management/leadership style difference. Both have attributes and negatives.

I didn't realize there were issues in the locker room last season but Gus got himself in trouble with the QB he brought in who really stunk. Guys get discouraged when coaches make bad decisions that take a promising season and turn it into a bummer season.

Gus only did that to guys he didn’t like.

Disagree about GOL. We had good QB play most of the time ('05, '07, '09, '10, '12, '13, '14). Very talented WRs wanted to play here.

His offenses made sense, use the run to set up the pass.

Gus would use the run to set up....another run, completely stupid. Receivers just stopped coming here.
