Here's an interesting fact. UCF has never had an alum coach a men's sport.*

In the women's sports, Laura Smith (volleyball) and Karen Richter (soccer) were alums who coached in the 1990s.

But none of the men's sports have had an alum coaching.

In fact, the only UCF alum that may have even been seriously considered for head coach would have been Jeff Johnson, who interviewed for the baseball job in 2008 and 2016, and now Rich Wallace who is expected to interview for this opening.

UCF is a younger program so it's not like there's generations of history, but it seems interesting to me that it's never happened on the men's side.

***Permanent head coaches hired by the school. UCF had two interim coaches (after their bosses were fired) that were alums: Alan Gooch (football, 2003) and Craig Cozart (baseball, 2008).
