Sagarin started us in160s, then 110's, next in the 80s, now up to 64th, by far their highest since when UCF was briefly nationally ranked early in this decade.
RPI's absurdly-high ranking for UCF is due to beating good teams by large margins (SOS: 22nd)

So far, no opponent could generate a big run during UCF's scoring droughts. 'Nova shoots lights out from all their starters and highly accurate with their 3s (50% against a good Wake Forest), so can't expect to shut them or frustrate them like we've done against the others. Perhaps switching up defenses can help keep UCF in the game and have any chance of victory.

I doubt Dawkins expected he'd even get the chance to make it to the tournament finals and face 'Nova's great coach Sunday night. What a great sports weekend for UCF!

I've gotta admit Prof, this start is unexpected and frankly amazing....we play as a team and utilize our few stars very wisely (i.e. thanks to much improved coaching).....they've obviously mentored Tacko extemely well (his skills, athleticism and stength improvements are obvious)...this team appears to be performing near peak and that is highly unusual this early in the season...kudos to Coach Dawkins and how he's prepared this group of 6 scholarship players (incredible) to compete.....it'll be interesting to see if we can withstand the barrage of talented athletes and comparable coaching that the defending national champs will throw at us tomorrow....but, in any case, what a surprising (and great) start!
