UCF loses commitment from top pass-rusher Isaiah Nixon. Where do Knights turn next?

I was 17 once and I distinctly remember where I wanted to go to school, who I wanted to be with, what my major was to be, had my HS job for four straight years etc. I don't claim to know it all but this idea of, "oH thEy'Re 17 and have the freedom to renege on one of the biggest commitments they'll make in life like willy nilly" is f*cking bullshit.

Man up, commit and stay true to your f*cking word...like an adult, which they're on the verge of becoming.
When I turned 18 I was a legal adult, drink, smoke, buy guns or cars, anything. Now they are not even responsible to get insurance until 27. Kids are not taught to grow up, they are coddled with every knock of life.

That takes discipline, strong character, morals, accountability... A faction of this country is letting that diminish, seemingly encouraging it to.

Our weakening culture has shifted to preparing the path for the children, vs preparing the children for the path.

So much crying in this thread. Verbal offers or commitments are not legally binding - either party call pull out of the deal. The recruit went to UF and liked it better.

Typical canes fan, cant read. Nobody said anything about legally binding contracts yet thats the spin you put out from this thread to fit your narrative.

Fans in this thread are crying about a personal decision. The recruit went to UF and flipped his commitment. It happens. He has a right to change his mind.

Even though you are a major douchebag who probably didn’t graduate from UM, you are correct about this, it was pretty obvious this was a high risk recruit for us, so we need to do what the coaching staff is doing and move on.

On the other side of the ball, I don’t care about losing the TE guy at all.....he didn’t have the frame I expect from a pass catching TE in today’s game.

Regardless of whether Gus replaces Nixon with another edge defender in this class, it is my sense that we will likely see effective edge play over the next few years from Keahnist, Jamaal and Kaven (when it is their time to step up). Not taking anything away from Nixon, but I feel that each of these guys is capable of a collegiate career that is just as disruptive off of the edge.

Also, during July and August, Gus and Co. will begin to reap the rewards of all of their hard work and the extensive June visits. We should see a half dozen or more additional commitments by the end of August.

Lastly, I have no crystal ball. I've been right before, I've been wrong before. I just try to observe as much as I can about Knights football and our potential recruits. Charge On!

Extensive June visits? You sure about that?

Going to go out on a limb and say Cristobol didn’t want him.

Don’t think we have ever missed on Miami Central kids. From recent memory I’m sure there is more:

QB Jeff Godfrey
WR Josh Reese
LB Eric Mitchell
LB Tatum Bethune

According to Lobo he was a scrub who is in breach of an NiL contract
He’s a good player. Everyone wishes him the best. The de-commitment was expected. He’s looking hard at Pitt and he would do well for them. 100%.

Called it. Mullen had a bad year but it was a massive risk firing him. Baffling really. Napier is very unproven.
Wouldn’t put too much weight into those messages they look to be pretty old. There was that period when he just got hired and a bunch of players hit the portal and he only had like 5 commits getting close to signing day. As a game day coach I have no clue how he is honestly.

There was a multitude of messages on Twitter and this board revolting at the idea of Malzahn getting hired and Lebby not getting a shot.

Any recruit who realizes they are about to play in a rented stadium 30 miles from campus in opa-locka should re-open their recruitment
