Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

PFF Grading Scale

90 and above - Elite
80 to 89 - Great
70 to 79 - Good
60 to 69 - Average to Above Average
50 - 59 - Below Average
49 and below - Poor

Team Offensive Grade (by game)

South Carolina State - 78.6

Overall Offensive Player Grades (Snaps Played)

QB John Rhys Plumlee (79) - 92.0
RT Ryan Swoboda (85) - 82.1
QB Thomas Castellanos (5) - 78.6

C Matt Lee (80) - 71.1
RB Isaiah Bowser (60) - 70.9
LT Tylan Grable (80) - 70.5

A grade of 90 or better is an elite performance. For reference, Dillon Gabriel had three 90+ PFF game grades in his UCF career: 2019 Houston, 2020 Tulane and 2020 usf. McKenzie Milton had four of them in his UCF career - all during the 2017 season (FIU, Cincinnati, Austin Peay, Memphis CCG).

All of UCF's primary players graded well except for Alec Holler and Kobe Hudson.
