UCF received nearly 21 million in revenue

Right in line with projections before we joined. Money will be fine soon. Not P2 comparable, but P4 comparable. Big thing UCF needs now is a mega donor or 2.
Agree, goodknightfl. But the changing CFB landscape has exhilarated the timeline for schools wanting to be among the elite. With a return to greatness of the Knight football program, it's no stretch that UCF could be included. UCF is one of the largest universities in the country. And given the school's location, its poised to be a recruiting power like its sister schools. But if the Knights hope to be in the mix when the P2 expands again and a new CFB league is formed by 2030, they've got make their move now. And that means a serious financial investment.

Let's see how this season pans out...lots of noise from the outsiders that UCF can't be competitive without the big bucks and the reality is that we're not getting it short term. So, in Frost we trust, and he's got a big challenge ahead of him. But if anyone can do it at UCF, he's the guy.

We've ALWAYS been competitive without the big bucks. One of the best without the big bucks! For decades! So we'll be just fine with even more money.

We just need to spend our money wisely. We need to invest in the right athletes to fill the right positions. We need to find athletes who want to stay here and build something. We need to avoid wasting piles of money on players like Jefferson. We could see how slow he was the first game, and he was given a bunch of money for a 4-8 season. Look at the softball team as an example. Little money is spent on them. They have a small stadium with no shade, but they make the NCAA tournament every year. They do far better than the UCF teams with big budgets that don't win. They win with less.

That was in a G5 conference Willie and before NIL took off.

I am not trolling but warning you guys…it’s going to be a painful year. The UCf offense will be atrocious…there’s not a good player to be found in the starting 11. Not a one.

UCF has some resources and some donors have given substantial donations but Beta Mohajir is spending all the money on a lazy river and seats for which there’s no demand.

Mohajir sucks and needs to be fired NOW!!! You fans should be making a stink about this in social media. WEAK UCF reporters/media should be questioning Mohajir instead everyone is following along and kissing his behind.

We get paid full shares effective next season; UCF will not receive that money until next July. The place you need the money is to pay players soon, and NIL right now. UCF can not go buy the best players yet, Before NIL you could bring in players that needed a couple of years to mature and develop them. That is what has changed those players mostly pick up and leave for $$brighter$$ pastures.

Decades? You mean the $EC's under-the-table payoffs? The ruling that opened the floodgates for legit payoffs began in 2023.

Yes, decades. We were one of the top "non power" conference teams from the 90s during our Independent days all the way until we joined the power ranks. That's why we beat, and almost beat, damn near half the SEC as an Independent, C-USA, and AAC team. Don't think we played any SEC teams from 02-04 during our MAC days.

I'm not dissing what UCF accomplished as a "non power" conference team. Once upon a time, Knight coaches did a brillant job of identifying 'diamonds in the rough' and developing them into stars.

But the reality of today's transfer portal and NIL environment has changed the formula.

Whatever happened, took place is a G5 conference. It’s irrelevant ion a power conference and much more so now with NIL and the transfer portal.

Hiring a guy that was unhirable and giving him scant resources….yeah, that’s going to work out great.

Forst and his army of analysts will coach these diamonds in the rough and D3, NAIA and D2 transfers into All American because of Frost's locker room culture.

I read about it in a free article on the Dungeon.

Miami hired their golden boy AND gave him all the resources he needed….yeah that has worked out great!

Why would you bother to correct me about this?

Nothing to do with you. Willie, however, says I am Bozo.
He can't help himself. He brings his shit into almost every thread. Infatuation to an obsessive extent. He went back and forth with himself almost every night for a long period last year. Like 2 and 3 in the morning. Quickly replying to himself. It became obvious to me. There's no way that "2" trolls from 2 historical programs would care this much about UCF at the same time and for so long. No way.

No Auburn fan cares about UCF this much. Surprised a Miami one does but they're in state so he's in fear of being passed. He's pissed about UCF winning big trohies, being in the Big 12, and cashing those Big 12 checks. Winning while Miami's trophy case for the past 20 years looks like usf's.

UCF playing in 3 BCS games, winning 2, in only a 6 year time frame, brought alot of attention and jealousy from the other 3 Power 4 Florida schools. Us beating Florida a few years ago brought even more from Miami fans. At least Florida and FSU have won big games in the past couple of decades. Miami?? Well their fans can only brag about offseason accolades.

The portal has changed everything and not necessarily good for UCF

Can't tell if your trolling by saying that I am Bozo, but it is an epic double troll if true.

Willie is not a bad guy but he’s not the sharpest tool in the shed. I am extremely intelligent and you have an IQ equivalent of a slug’s…sadly, it doesn’t “speak” well for Willie to say/belive that we are the same person.

This is what we’ve always been missing. We are too young of of school. It’s a numbers game. The older people are the more wealth they have, on average. We don’t have enough generations of older alumni and the ones we do have are few in number because UCF was a much smaller school in the 70’s and 80’s.

Phil Knight’s donations to Oregon reportedly exceed $1 billion. T. Boone Pickens has donated over $650 million to Oklahoma State over the years. Stephen Ross has given almost $500 million to Michigan. Wayne Hughes has donated more than $400 million to USC. Not all of these donations went directly to the football programs, but the vast majority did.

We need a couple mega whales who have the enormous generational wealth enabling them to donate $100 to $200 million to UCF and not put a dent in their nest egg.

Gotta chime in here....

I think youngsters today are not as involved with alumni giving as the grey hairs were 50 years ago because....

1. The middle class is being swept away. Generations of past had a lot more stable income streams, reliable jobs, pensions etc. That's all gone now.

2. Giving to your school just doesn't resonate with today's alumni. They're busy donating to instagramers and whatever else.

3. UCF Athletics has been awful. It hasn't been this low since 2015.

Waiting for donations to come from these graduates is like waiting for Ghandi to rise from the grave.

This is actually spot on. Even traditional powers will have the same trend.

way OT but this made me think of the reports and numbers that Vegas is starting to struggle. Gambling not as appealing and they overpriced everything so much that even flying to Europe is a better deal to party.

exactly!!!

College sports continues to move the goal post anytime UCF Knights sports reaches it.
THIS^^^^^^^^ everytime!!! jeeze
The short-term future for UCF Knights sports may not look particularly rosey right now. But a University as large as UCF, and one strategically located in Orlando, Florida, and with the rich early history in athletics that the school has, is eventually going to shine.
