Not one of 18 incoming freshmen is projected to be a starter. That is amazing. Sure, some guys will letter (i.e., appear in 2/3s of games), but EVERY SIGNEE is pegged to be a backup, to play special teams player, or to redshirt.

Not a single player off the highest-rated class in school history will be depended on to start as a true freshman.

That is indicative of the caliber of offseason the Knights had.

None of the 18 signees is good enough to start as a true freshman. Malzon has developed zero of his UCF high school recruits for these positions: QB, RB, OL, WR and LB.

Malzon will keep bringing armies of mid portal guys and develop nobody. Welp.

It's a new day with transfer portal.

What were the positions of need that we needed going into 2024 after guys
agreed to stay with us like RB and WR studs? Answer: QB, LBs and OL.

These were taken care of in transfer portal.

Just open positions for making the 2-deep (after in-season injuries) or special teams
for H.S. recruits.

Not really sure when this is all going to settle down. Kind of expect Gus to go fishing
again next season for a QB and OL on portal. It's not the best time for HS recruits.

HS kids have to compete with the portal every year. Before the portal required you to sit out a year. Post COVID and the NIL, may as well get an agent and start getting paid. That or go to a small school, get good and move up through the portal and get paid for your last 2-3 years. On top of that, they shouldn't have any debt because they were on scholarship.

I'd like to see where Gus lands with developing some QBs he recruited. We are now looking at a Team that is primarily built by Gus vs Heupel/Frost.
