UCF Transfer Portal Updates

This is so true, and every time some idiot announcer talks about our "huge" alumni base I want to throw something at the TV, because they aren't contributing jack squat.
Our alumni base has not developed to a big donor base. Will take time for our alumni to achieve a healthy disposable funds. In time.

He’s a tiny guy and a pocket passer without a strong arm…his ceiling is very low
I think he is gonna have a hard time as well

Keep to your educated info and don’t go all KMart Cane on us ( u know the ones who get that discounted UM t shirts on the $5 rack and act like they went there). U can have value when u do that n stay away from trying to rip UCF

Yeah…heard Iowa offered $1.6M over two years and he did not go there. I don’t know about Missouri.

I am for players making money but it’s out of hand and not sustainable.
They are peeking in college. No way these guys make anywhere near this money when real life hits.

So he played at Miami (OH) in 94 and 95. Stopped playing football and then transferred to UCF just for school before dropping out completely. He never played for UCF. I didn't know he played for the Redhawks either.
He transferred and was a walkon. Didn’t play for GOL. I read somewhere else he transferred to USF after us and played. Not sure though.

I think what hurts alumni contributions for sports is a substantial number (majority) of our graduates are direct connects, who did two years at community college and don’t really have a great bond with the school. UCF is kicking ass in fulfilling its educational mission and serving the community but we don’t have the most passionate graduates when it comes to supporting our athletics. I’m not confident time cures that.

Backup at Ole Miss. He’s a body, just trying to build up some depth to try and makeup for how poorly the position was recruited by Malzahn.

at least Frost is going at needs, obviously you prefer established starters but hopefully the offseason strength program and new OLine coach gets the best out of these guys to be ready by Fall 2025.

I think frost is building with culture first type guys who dont quit. We may be talent deficient next year but i like that he seems to be installing the fighter mentality with these players and coaches

This will not be the only portal QB that comes in. This guy is depth, so no need to freak out. Remember we lost multiple QBs. However, I don’t think we’re getting Pribula, he’s basically the hottest guy in the portal right now.
It's the type of player that they selected that I'm most pleased with. You will have KZ working with all the QBs and eventually we will bring in a guy that is better than KZ who will be coached up to bring us into the CFP.

We may have to use a platoon system for a while until we get to that point.

You may be right but I think the classes that graduated 20 yrs plus are contributing.
20 years usually puts you with disposable income and u have other interests that you can give to your school and write off I know I started giving it up about 10 years ago. I have a great gratitude to UCF it changed my world above n beyond my wildest dreams.

You're happy they brought in a total scrub who was horrible at both stops? I'd say he was only good to hold a clipboard, but pretty sure he would throw it to the other team out of habit.

There are far better choices if you wanted a low ranked guy with one year left....Kurt Warner's kid for a start.

So 20 years ago our student enrollment was 42k.....probably about average, but yet we seem to have less NIL than every other P4 school.

Our history is nowhere near anybody else that’s in the power five. We did not have one scholar athlete on campus prior to 1983 for football. And most of those guys did not have full scholarships. It wasn’t that long ago that UCF was a commuter school. The only people on campus were the athletes who stayed in the dorms. Comparatively speaking, we are light years behind everybody else. It is amazing what this university has done, including financing the athletic dept like it has. The NIL money will come sooner rather than later. It takes time. Most schools are working off of generational money, when we are still in our first generation. In 1983 we moved from division three to division two and gradually moved up. It’s extraordinary where we’re at right now and we will be at a place that no one can imagine sooner than later, but it takes time.

I hope these are not excuses, but I fear they are. As NIL has only been around for 3-4 years, the generational "effect" should be minimal. Our 40 year olds seem to be less interested in sports than other schools 40 year olds given similar enrollment rates.

BTW, Air Noland committed to South Carolina so one more top end transfer QB gone.

Before signing Fancher, I'm sure Frost and his staff knew what the price was to bag (pun intended) the top targets. And with the level of talent, the price was ridiculous. We do have 2 QB's coming back who played last year but we'll need to sign another QB or convince Riley Trujillo to stick around. And unless we bag (pun intended) a Jackson Arnold from OK (or similar), this year the competition at QB in the Spring should be very spirited. Hopefully at least one guy clearly emerges and earns the job (unlike our starting QB's the last 2 years).....

Jackson Arnold went to Auburn I believe.

Price of one of the higher profile transfer QBs 👀

Air Noland commited to South Carolina today who I assume was going for more. With the rates this crazy this cycle it might be better to continue to plug holes at other positions and pray that Frost can turn Rizk into a quality starting QB.
