UCF Transfer Portal Updates

Heart goes out to the kid. He was doped to play for Gus!

Lot of blame has to fall on the UCF fans. They didn't donate enough. They didn't cheer loud enough. They didn't support the program and its head coach. Can't blame Gus for moving on.

Not sure about that, but box head definitely got that Aaron Eckhart feel. He ain't "My All-American."

Not 1 thing you mention has anything to do with being able to coach a team, which Gus proved he can no longer do. He recruited well, ranked high, as high as Frost has done in just a few weeks by the way, or are you saying Gus sucks at recruiting too? I seem to remember a lot of excitement around the portal rankings of Gus last year. I guess he's just a completely useless coach now- can't recruit, can't coach. Can't coach in the Big XII can't coach in the American. He moved on because he knew he was going to be canned when he won only 2 games next year. Then he'd be unwanted, just like he was this year, only to be bailed out by his previous employee.

Gus is not highly thought of in the coaching community. Like u said he keeps close to his ex employees but no one else thinks much of him

The 2025 NFL draft will show Gus can recruit and why Las Vegas thought so much of his program.

Man, doesn't Scott Frost make that UCF Orlando gear look so much better than Malzahn did? With all of that goofy ass booming.
Heupel has been classy towards UCF especially lately but reminds me of the jokes on here when Heupel was coach . Frost is 3-4 years older than him I think yet Heupel looks a decade older.

I can't count how many HC interviews Gus had this year. Oh neither can all those who respect Gus so much, because there were none.

Looking at UCF's portal adds on defense...

Philip Dunnam, Day 1 starter at SS

Horace Lockett, Day 1 starter at DT

Keil Lawson, Day 1 starter at MLB

Jayden Bellamy, Day 1 starter at No. 1 CB

DJ Bell, Brandon Jacob, and Jaeden Gould look like depth pieces at safety. Same goes for Jyaire Brown and Isaiah Reed at CB. Reed won't even join the team until the summer and will probably report to camp out of football shape.

Gould and Bellamy have quite a history:

Sincere Edwards looks like a third down, pass rush specialist at Edge.

Phil Picciotti and Lewis Carter are high ceiling guys who have little so far.

This suggests Demari Henderson will start at free safety in the spring. Antonie Jackson will spell Bellamy. Ja'Cari Henderson, et al, will battle for the other CB spot. Braeden Marshall will start at NB. John Walker will take over at NG. Nyjalik Kelly and Malachi Lawrence will bookend each other. Andrew Harris will get the first crack at WLB.

The defense will be the strength of the team next season.

All the time it took you to write that. No one cares about a depth chart on January 5th. Give me a break, we have spring and summer to get through.

Oh well, in your 50s most of us come to expect a few wrinkles. Some people call them character others call it wisdom. Most of us just call it getting older and maybe a little wiser.
Then in my case at my age we just call it ancient!

He went where it was legal.

Purdue transfer receiver CJ Smith, a former transfer at Georgia, has received strong interest since entering the NCAA Transfer Portal on Monday.

Among those showing the most interest in Smith are UCF, USF, Michigan State, Oklahoma State and Tulane, according to On3’s Pete Nakos
