UCF @Tulane Thursday night. ESPNNEWS or ESPN3

UCF wins 70-62 was Walker scores a career high 33 pts!!

Playing without Adonys now too (ESPN Announcer said he would be out for probably another 2 weeks), much of the scoring pressure feel on Walker...as McBride and Tacko were "out of it" (i.e. no confidence, both were held scoreless and eventually replaced) by Blair who came up with some big rebounds and 6 pts.

Less than a 24 hour turn around for UCF as when they get home early tomorrow afternoon, UCF hosts Temple on Saturday...as Temple will come in either #1 or #2 seed in the AAC Tourn as Temple beat Tulsa in OT tonight.

UCF is now undefeated under Coach Jones vs Tulane (11-2 overall, not counting vacated wins).

I think that the top 6 (excluding SMU) get a first round bye in the tourney?

So why does Memphis suck once they got out of C-USA and into a conference with real BB opponents? (yes I'm being slightly sarcastic)

Seriously. Memphis and Temple were suppose to be the big basketball heavy weights additions to the AAC. Neither has lived up to expectations. Then Tulsa, Houston and SMU start getting really good in the AAC. Makes no sense. But it kinda shows that anyone can get good in basketball.

Just looked at our remaining schedule....ouch! It is possible to only win one more game.

Temple is tied for the #1 seed in this year's AAC Tourn...and is actually ahead of where all the AAC Coaches thought they would finish this season....as this was suppose to be a rebuilding year at Temple.

Here's the AAC Preseason Poll taken back in Oct (over 2 months before it was known UCF's BJ Taylor was lost for the season).

Here's how the current conf tourn seedings at the half-way mark look:

SMU 8-2 (not eligible for post-season)
1) Temple 7-3 (owns tiebreaker vs UC, as Temple swept UC this season)
2) Cincinnati 7-3
3) UCONN 6-3
4) Houston 6-4
4) Tulsa 6-4
6) UCF 5-4
7) Memphis 4-5
8) ECU 2-7
9) USF 2-9
10) Tulane 1-10

Temple's first year in the AAC was bad when they finished 8th in the league and the next year they lost in the first round of the NIT. They were a NCAA tournament team who made runs in the A10. Like most, I expected them to do that in the AAC. They may this year.

The AAC needs to get multiple teams in the Tourney and make a run. SMU being on probation hurts that pursuit badly.
