UCF vs Houston today at Noon ( Space Game)

Counting down. Hope we can pull it out but it'll be tough. Houston always plays great defense and they have veteran leadership. Feels like J'wan Roberts has been there for 10 years.

The Knights have been a terrible defensive rebounding team, allowing more offensive rebounds than any other team in the conference. And that's one of the things Houston does best (keeps possessions alive, hits the offensive glass, second chance points).

I think this one is going to be ugly. Early noon start, coming off a west coast trip, going up against the best defensive team in the B12.

REAL Tough matchup today. This is the toughest matchup in the Big 12 for UCF

Great game so far...refs letting them play, my type of game.

Interesting that the announcers said flight delays forced Houston to have a long night last night...i think were seeing it here.

Frost is at the game taking pictures with the fans.

Good start so far, crowd sounds like wild dogs, keep gettin' those fouls/TOs Houston!
I had dinner, this week, with a top 10 of all-time college coach who’s in the Hall of Fame. He was extremely impressed with the talent JD brought into Ucf.

Like I mentioned above, UCF has struggled in the first half to keep Houston off the glass. The Cougars shot a dismal 33% in the first half, you would think UCF should be up 15-20 points. But Houston has 11 offensive rebounds that have led to over ten second chance points.

Neither team turned the ball over too much in the first half, relatively clean there. Hall has really struggled against Houston's suffocating defense, but Thiam has given the Knights a huge lift. If you would have told me that DJ and Hall would combine to shoot 1 for 14 from the field in the first half, but UCF would be up eight - I would have thought you were bonkers.

It’s bad enough we have to listen to this announcer on ESPN plus, but now he’s on CBS SN. He’s terrible. Talks way too much about nothing.

Houston’s defense is unlike no other. They push the offense so far out and get in your space that it’s difficult to get any easy shots.

It sucks when you have to turn the announcing off because they’re so bad you can’t get the feel for the game as much as if we had decent announcers

Was Hall shaving points or something? Man he had a terrible game, wasn’t like him at all. Missing free throws, turnovers, bad shooting. Get them corn rows out asap.

Thiam is going to be a force. I hope we can keep him and Mikey comes back next year. with a few transfers we could be really good next year.

If hall has any Mamba in him, he'd be shooting free throws all night.

those cornrows were done too tightly or something and he was playing in pain because keyshawn was ABSOLUTE garbage. it's like the universe had to find a way to cancel out the arizona state game.

Can’t expect to win when:
1) Dawkins team routinely comes out in halves and doesn’t basically score for 3-4 min
2) didn’t quite meet my “Keys to Success”
3) On their last inbound I said,”The only person you can’t let get the ball is #13.” #13 got the ball

…and Hall scores 40 and changes his hairdo. Like getting hot dice in Vegas…and then he asks to change out the dice…just a bad decision.

Now that the game's over and the sting from losing has wore off some, man, what a game. Houston is the only other college basketball team that I pull for and I've been a fan ever since they hired Kelvin Sampson.

We had them on the ropes and a win would've put is in great position to make it to the dance. Still got some work to do but what do the Johnny Dawkins haters have to say now? I'm not into moral victories but come on man. His haters ate ridiculous.

No, this wasn't a moral victory, we should have won the game. Johnny's got to figure out the right guys to keep on the floor to stop our opponents from beating us up in the paint. KS big guys scored 50+ and Houston big guys scored almost 50....they came out in the second half and just bulldozed us inside and we couldn't stop 'em. If he doesn't have the personnel this year then better defense in the paint has got to be his goal for next year....

Just finished on dvr. Wow...so close yet so far. If Hall played better we win that game. Everyone else Hats Off...Great Game!

The refs did let them play in the first half, but not in the second. Also, Houston's coach deserved a technical a couple times. Cursing at the ref should never be tolerated. Then finally minute he is running at the ref and being held back by his assistant coaches. Wtf. Come on Refs..Tee that up. I would have.

Next game Iowa State. #2. Go Knights!

U r right we don’t have the inside personnel now. But imagine if we get a solid 4 next year with Thiam This year we are guard heavy and done pretty well I like where we r at in terms of progress. Good solid effort today. Foul shots at the end were the difference imo

We still can make the tourney this year, but Johnny's got to figure it out...we had the height advantage today, but they were just more physical (especially in the 2nd half after, I'm sure, Sampson gave his team a tongue lashing at halftime). Thiam actually played well but more like a PF today and if we had a physical C to do the dirty work inside, we'd have been much better off. Can Jocius play physical? I'd let him know that he has to in order to get any playing time....and how about Hulsewe, the local kid who transferred from Béthune Cookman? We need a kid who will do the dirty work! It's now obvious that it can be the difference this year.....

Sampson gets away with way too much yelling, screaming, and foul language. Johnny even started yelling and screaming in response. The refs let Houston get away with playing football in the second half (at one point, mid 2nd half, they had 2 fouls and we had 6) and, in response, Johnny's got to teach his big guys to take the charge, hand out hard fouls and just make it more difficult. The refs were horrible today, in every way, but our big guys were also at fault for letting them dominate...
