As of now you can have multiple transfers and not sit out. Court case could take months or years without ncaa giving in.

Good info but premature and speculative....we'll know more after the Bowl Game.
 
I don't b*tch about certain players being wasted scholarships with the intent to bully or hurt the player. I just see the opportunity cost they inflict on the roster.

I have to give @Brandon props. He or one of the other UCF best writers asked Gus about the UCF players who jumped in the transfer portal but decided to continue going through bowl practices. Gus gave a great answer. He said something to the effect of "They just want to be on the team. They just want to help us win. Whether that means giving us a look on the scout team or whatever."

That's my point: "They just want to be on the team." They are satisfied with wearing the jersey and content with a leg or thigh. They are never going to play a significant snaps in a game.

I get it. You guys love UCF. If it was your scholarship, you would do anything to keep it. But Gus ain't coaching intramurals and he ain't running a bread and breakfast, either.

Like it or not, Gus is the CEO of the most important corporation at Central Florida and every spot is important.

I cannot tell you the impact that sabahr had on uat. Their enrollment went up. Their ability to attract quality athletes in virtually every sport went up. Their facilities in all sports wre upgraded. uat had always had the rec (red elephant club) that bought players. But sabahr impacted all areas of the school.

Gus is doing the same at UCF. That's why I b*tch about spots.

Leblanc ready, developed enough? Idk, he might be too young yet. John Walker is different, he was always going to be a major immediate contributor for whatever team he was going to.
 
LeBlanc is big and strong enough to set the edge, and quick and agile enough to get to the passer. Size, strength and quickness are important factors for an edge rusher. Age... Not so much.

Lawrence stood out to me the most. Pretty much was 3rd down guy but I heard his name a lot. If they let him be a 3 down guy he will be good.

I agree but one guy doesn't make the D....Gus has to focus on more and better players on the D side of the ball. Since Gus has arrived, way too much focus on the O and then he puts the ball in the hands of a guy who is a turnover machine the last half of 2022 and the first half of 2023. This team has suffered from bad leadership and decisions by Gus.

Great list. Thanks for compiling. Just a few notes: Unless I missed some announcements, Xavier Williams and Stephen Martin are still PWOs, and not on athletic scholarship. Marc Antony Richards declared for the NFL draft. Colton Boomer started out as a PWO. Not sure if he was subsequently put on scholarship.

This would equal 3 or 4 more scholarships available.

Question: What about Gammage? Has he exhausted eligibility?

Are you certain Martin and Williams are walk-ons?

I was unaware MAR declared. Thanks for letting me know.

I would be shocked if the starting kicker at UCF has not been awarded a scholarship. I am more apt to think Gage King is still a walk on.

I do not know for certain Rian Davis is still a member of the team. He graduated, walked on Senior Day, and did not appear in the bowl game.
 
You've got Kylan Fox is listed under WR and TE. If he's counting twice to your scholarship total, that could be another scholarship available from what you are projecting.

I was just commenting using the last/best information that I have available. Can't say for sure that Martin and Williams are not on scholarship now, but I have not seen any announcement of such a change in their status.

Admittedly, sometimes it is hard to keep up. That is why I really appreciate you taking the time to compile the list.

Seems we prob need another receiver unless Magwood/Goldie/Whittmore explode. Love Kobe but would rather him be WR2.

Our RB room, on the other hand, has to be one of tops in nation. Going to be a very fun group to watch.
 
With another added, LB Alexander (Idaho), is it right to assume we're filling with portals, and can't expect anything on Feb. 7?

Gus has allegedly called a press conference tomorrow. I am assuming it is to announce staff changes and the portal enrollees. I fear UCF is done adding players, which means no Bryson Rodgers.
 
Just lost a LS not mentioned- Bowerfind (maybe to be next Bond villian) to the portal so that may give us another space.

Great listing. Thanks for sharing. Also, Xavier Carter just hit the portal and, I believe, Xavier Williams is a PWO. That will take us to 77 on scholarship. I actually would like to see us add one more stud transfer LB who is over 230 lbs to help stop the run.
