Cows hosted Morgan State from the MEAC last night.

Final Score: Morgan State 63, usf 53

So no, that was not an upset.

PS. Meanwhile, #6 Wichita State enjoyed game highlights of their easy win over College of Charleston all over ESPN Networks (including a dig by ESPN's SVP who continue a running joke with Stanford Steve of "what teams are in the AAC?"

Going to be a long season, but it was expected. Hopefully see some improvement throughout the season.

USF is a bit improved. Last year FAU beat them by 16 and this year they beat FAU. I think they will get a few more conference wins this year. Hard not to improve from rock bottom.

There's old lore, that says it was USF's basketball program that got them into the Big East over UCF.

Seems too absurd to be true though.

Back in Nov 2003 when invites were handed out, usf was in CUSA at the time (much better hoop conf than the ASUN...as other CUSA members were invited to join the Big East at same time: Louisville, Cinci, Marquette and DePaul), plus the State of FL built the cows a "free" 10,000 seat basketball arena back in 1979...while UCF was stuck in a "gym" that might cram in 4,600 or so (5,100 was listed capacity but that was with "floor shows").

usf was not a good CUSA Hoop Program most years...and that stellar tradition continued in the Big East...and now rings true more than ever in the AAC.

They have had just 2 winning seasons since 2002-2003...and their list of seasons with at least 20 losses is LONG and hopefully growing.

Good news is in basketball we don't need others in conference to be good to get a seat at table. We just need to win.

While every conf gets ONE seat at the table, a very good AAC Conf can help 3 or maybe now 4 with Wichita State to get at large bids.

Yes. But you only need 4 really good teams and 4 more to just not be really bad. We need all of AAC to win as much as possible in football. Basketball isn't as big of a deal. 3 ranked in basketball so far?
