UCF got beat by a better team last night, give FIU credit. I have no idea what FIU will turn out to be and it looks like they lost a couple solid players last night but UCF should not even have been in that game with a chance to win.

I can deal with losing, being around UCF as long as I have been this is nothing new to me. What worries me is the Head Coach in waiting label that was given to Brent Key. If he gets the head coaching job this program will fall back to the 2004 years.

I just watched FIU's first Offensive series on DVR. They looked good. Hopefully FIU goes off and wins C-USA and makes us feel better about this loss towards the end of the year....but...geez, long time UCF fan here also...this loss stings no matter how you look at it.

Only way I'll recover from it is if we beat Stanford and/or SoCarolina. Thus, probably won't recover. LOL. Geez, I was so excited for football season to start. Now...I'm like wtf. I feel like it is over already...

Did he officially get the HCIW label?
From my understanding, yes he was given the label. He is Tim Salem and Lance Thompson all over again and if he becomes the Head Coach this program is in trouble. Losing sucks but UCF got beat by a better team last night. That is not to say UCF can't improve but the Oline play was horrible and play calling was horrendous. Holman looked solid as did a few receivers. UCF's LB's are slow, very slow and that is a problem but to me it all comes down to game planning.

FIU had one, UCF did not. Was it that UCF was just looking to Stanford and just thought UCF could beat FIU on talent alone, who knows. It is a wakeup call for this program and while I give UCF no chance against Stanford what will be telling is week conference play.

I know... generally, the first college football saturday of the year is one of the days that I look forward to the most this whole year... and now that I know that our season is kind of screwed, it dampens that excitement a little bit.

So, now we know what we are dealing with for 2015. Did I hear UCF has the 3rd youngest team in the country? Talent with no game experience. I think that is what I heard. Thus, I'm hoping this loss ignites a fire under the players and coaches and turn this around.

Another way that could make this loss easier is for FAMU to beat s.Fla. Misery loves company! Go FAMU!!!

Yes, hate to say it, but that would be the only thing that can salvage my college football weekend at this point.

It was the more experienced and expected to improve units that let this team down last night. Defensive line was supposed to be a strength. Did they even touch McGough all night?? We havent had a sufficient pass rush for quite a few years. Offensive line is bringing plenty of guys back and was supposed to be an improved unit. They turned in one of the worst performances I can remember against a foe from a non P5 school. The new WRs and DBs played well enough to win. If there's any silver lining it's that the WR and DBs that were a tru mystery look quite capable. We gotta get better at the line of scrimmage.

We should have won that game. Not to reduce FIU's victory, and they did best us in the trenches (which is scary), but we really made it simple for them ... unnecessarily so.

The only thing I am wondering is if there are any college coaches out there capable of making worse calls at the end of the game. For excitement maybe we could create some kind of "counter" for bonehead calls made by GOL and staff during the year.

Ruffin McNeill showed O'leary how to do it last year at ECU. That was awful late game management by them as well giving us a chance for the hail mary. Their fans were up in arms. O'leary liked it so much he decided to deploy it to troll his own fanbase.
