USF basketball coach Abdur-Rahim dies at age 43
South Florida men's basketball coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, 43, died during a medical procedure Thursday at the age of 43, the school said.
Sad.. Condolences for the family and friends.
We dont know the details, but why was he having a brain tumor operated on 5 days before the season opener? Guess it was a sudden emergency.I remember his brother in NBA. Both guys were decent. Probably has kids 20 and under. Terrible to go unexpectedly like this. What surgury was he doing?
I’m hoping it was operate now or it could be dire. The details could change perspective. Would be tragic if anesthesia caused it or a mistake by staff during procedure. We dont know the details, but why was he having a brain tumor operated on 5 days before the season opener? Guess it was a sudden emergency.

I hate to bring this into a thread like this, but did any one catch this “dig” on the cows from the article.
“Abdur-Rahim spent four seasons at Kennesaw State before moving to South Florida, leading the Owls to an NCAA tournament appearance in 2023”
