25 years ago, UCF opened up the 1999 season with four consecutive top 25 teams. It was UCF's first post-Daunte season. Final record was 4-7.
Sept. 4 vs. No. 22 Purdue (Drew Brees) - 47-13 L
Sept. 11 at No. 4 Florida - 58-27 L
Sept. 18 at No. 12 Georgia Tech - 41-10 L
Sept. 25 at No. 11 Georgia - 24-23 L
A few years ago, I was gifted a box of UCF mementos from former SID John Marini, who led the UCF communications department during the 1990s and early 2000s (until Tribble's arrival). I was just looking at it again this weekend and thought it would be timely to post since UCF plays Florida again this season.
The Purdue game was UCF's first home game against a "power conference" team (more generic terms would have been used back then).
I'm not sure how this artwork was used (campus posters, t-shirts?) but it's the same artist from Metropolis Graphics that designed many of the SGA t-shirts of the era.
