The team never boxes out. Even the announcers were joking about that. Missed layups Missed dunks just terrible. Colorado is a bad team but we're worse. Fire Johnny now or fire him later. Next year without DJ is going to be really hard
Wait, I've been out of town and when I left there were plenty of posters on this site who insisted that Johnny's doing a good job...what the hell happened in the last 3 weeks? Maybe the other teams have figured out that we don't play tough enough on D, have no presence in the paint and rely way too much on one player to be the catalyst for our O.....you think that's it or is there more? And check my post from last year when I insisted we give Johnny one more year (max) to show some real improvement. Then firing him would be easy...but, now it's not and Johnny's not going anywhere. The team never boxes out. Even the announcers were joking about that. Missed layups Missed dunks just terrible. Colorado is a bad team but we're worse. Fire Johnny now or fire him later. Next year without DJ is going to be really hard
He was never good. Dude literally destroyed a thriving Stanford basketball program.Dawkins has been in the game for such a long time as a player and coach that I’m sure he is burned out and going through the motions to a degree…hopefully he makes the choice to ride off into the sunset after this season…no shame in that. He has been a great representative of UCF during his time on our sideline. Charge On!!
Actually trueHe was never good. Dude literally destroyed a thriving Stanford basketball program.
Why should he quit? If UCF doesn’t like his performance then fire him.
But Malzahn was not fired and would never be fired by Mohajir. Malzahn decided to save face and quit to go be the OC for FSU.If we can fire matza- ball malzahn, we can fire Dawkins. Maybe he'll step down 🙏🙏
Why do UCF keep insisting that he should quit? No, he should not quit. He has a contract. This will be his last money contract. If UCF wants him gone…then fire him.Welcome to the bandwagon one and all. First, I TOLD YOU SO! For three years I have been saying Dawkins should have been GONE, GONE, GONE. Colorado is now 1-15 in the conference, after beating
you know who. He should just quit.
This is a good take. Mohajir keeps extending coaches whose performance to that point leaves a lot to be desired. Coaches that should be on the hot seat or fired get extended. If Terry gives someone an extension bet the under next season.
Maybe the conversation should focus on our University President firing Tik Tok. All of UCF’s revenue sports are irrelevant right now. Baseball potentially being good isn’t gonna carry an athletic department.
UCF needs a fresh mind overseeing all our coaches that actually shows some urgency.
Because Coach L is 75 years old, has been a successful coach (has a legacy to protect) and has made a lot of money. Johnny Dawkins is 61 years old, has not been successful (no legacy to protect) and has not made much money."Why should he quit?"
That's rich. Why did Miami Cane's Basketball Coach quit this. season? You are laughable on your take and very easy to point out your hypocrite self. Also, I'd like to see where I said I hope Dawkins resigns. Dude, give it up already. Go troll somewhere else please. It's mildly amusing but it has to take a toll on yourself.
When your kids playing for you and your coaching, the kids investment is 100%. Even today with Johnson being our most invested, his dad’s the assistant coach. Kids have a different mentality now as they look out the window for future opportunities as opposed to making the most of what they have in the present. Outside of maybe three or four players, this team just checked out. I’m not so sure that the kid from Syracuse was ever checked in and they needed him badly with the lack of depth at the front court. Sellers being hurt and the SU guy not being committed hurt this team badly. Next year does not have a real shining light to it either. When his son was on the team, Dawkins seemed to be more highly motivated. Ever since his son left college basketball his teams have been declining. He struggled in the American, so it makes sense that he struggles in the Big 12 as well. The games are becoming agonizing to watch. It looks the team has given up. Something needs to be done. I am sure some people will put a positive spin on his performance like they did last year to save his job. But I won't buy it this year.
Coach Dawkins was on solid footing going into February. Probably not so much now. Here are the numbers for UCF BB according to the NCAA after last night's debacle.
Scoring Offense: 78th; Scoring Defense 337th out of 355; 3 pt. shooting 185th; rebounding 135th; 3 pt. defense 225th; and, bench scoring 284th. To make matters worse, 3 of the starters are graduating after this year. Just food for thought Mr. AD
Very weird indeed. This guy is strange. This makes you weird and a hypocrite.
“You are a weird guy for looking up the contract details of a coach that’s not associated with UCF and then posting about it“. -lobocane
Could be a bad scenario for next year. They'll be transfers but they'll be so so. Can't lose Mustafa or hall. Need them. When your kids playing for you and your coaching, the kids investment is 100%.
