at 6'11" and 330 pounds I would think just have him stand there and let Rj go off tackle would work 90 percent of the time!
I don't think that plays into things at all.I know it sounds cynical, but I wonder if anything goes through their mind about trying to prop up a unique player who would generate media attention. The last couple of years it’s been JRP with the multi sport thing. This year, maybe it’s like “hey let’s get the 7 foot tall lineman out there” and that’ll become the revolving media story for the year. I’m guessing he’s made enough progress to make it out there to start. It’ll be interesting to follow
Don’t think so. JRP is probably the most athletic player we’ve ever had and he is a great kid.I know it sounds cynical, but I wonder if anything goes through their mind about trying to prop up a unique player who would generate media attention. Also, think we need good tacklers on 2nd and 3rd levels of defense and have the depth now to select guys who can both cover and tackleS Ladarius Tennison
Rockledge native Tennison split four seasons evenly between Auburn and Ole Miss, leading the Rebels with 10 TFLs two seasons ago. The 5-foot-10, 200-pound fifth-year senior was utilized primarily as a weakside linebacker last season, but UCF views him as a starting boundary safety.
In an interview with ESPNU during Big 12 media days, Malzahn described the former four-star recruit as an "NFL-type guy" and raved about his contributions on special teams. Defensively, he collected 94 tackles with 13½ the previous two years at Ole Miss.
Didn't one of those FCS players end up being 2nd Team All-Big 12The difference in LB is night and day.
Last year we had 2 FCS players who never played in the Big12.
This year, we have 3 LBs that have started 3 seasons in the SEC and Big 12 at their respective schools.
If this team stays healthy we are going to be in the Big 12 championship conversation.
Why are you talking about a player that has been around for four years like no one has ever seen him play before? In last night's radio show Rubelt was mentioned as the most improved player. at 6 feet 11 and 1/2 inch. Strongest and most energy, moves around not like someone who is near 7 feet tall. But, whatev, neggie nancies gonna be neggie nancies. Maybe he sux, maybe he don't. At this point nobody on this forum knows a thing other than what we've been told thru the media.

You didn’t strike a nerve buddy. Being positive in life is a great thing, I try to be each and every day. This isn’t real life, this is the Internet where strangers post about UCF Football.Yes, Maybe it's because I've been going to UCF games since 1985 and know where we've been. I was hanging on the goal post when they came down after the nation's longest losing streak was broken.
How can you not be all-around optimistic on UCF football season this year? All the indicators point to that UCF is going to be better than the down year we had last season.
Also, I'm glad I hit a nerve calling people out as neggie-nancies. Let me flip the script on you, why do I always have to read people's negative replies on UCF football? I even see stuff complaining about Brandon's interview questions, Marc Daniels, to the water boy (who we never seen before). To me, YES, that's neggie-nancy attitude. Sorry, to inform you. But, the majority I read is negative. I get it... Some people are actually EEYOREs. Good for you. I'm not, and a long time UCF fan and I enjoy the lows and the highs of following a team.
And, to direcly answer your question, " Why are you talking about a player that has been around for four years like no one has ever seen him play before?"
Duh, he is the first string starter. Any more elaboration on my part needed?
