Week 6 games….

I’d fire Jimbo and Norvell tomorrow. How do these knuckleheads get paid so much to make horrible decisions with games on the line. Btw, Sumlin has a better record than Jimbo after the same amount of games…at like 1/2 the price.

That norvell call was mind blowingly stupid

That Jimbo call on the 2 yard line was so bad. An erratic QB and you call an nfl difficulty throw short of the goal line ? College football has so many idiot coaches

USF chokes. Idiotic coach goes for it on 4th and 1, down 28-24 with like 5 minutes left. It didn’t change the outcome but you take your 3, make a stop and give yourself a chance. Soooo many coaches can’t seem to do simple math anymore, especially when you are on the road.
If they score a TD they are up 2,3 or 4 depending if they go for 2 or don’t make it. Being down 1 needing a stop is the same as being down 4 and needing a stop. They didn’t get one. Cincy ran 5 minutes off clock. Thats the bad part. Can’t force a punt in 5 minutes. Or even a FG and you still have a chance to tie or win.

I thought same thing. Best option would have been trying to run the ball. Sure bama is tough to run against but likely a higher percentage play than throwing to sideline

Or how about the QB actually survey the field and throw it at the WR that doesn’t have DB help over the top. The guy at the bottom of the field was in one-on-one coverage and there was no other DB there to support. Give yourself a chance.

If I was an AD I would have a 10-15 detailed questionnaire for coaches to fill out. It would consist of game situations and they would have to respond with their decision, and an explanation. After-the-fact (for the person hired), I would let them know my decisions in those situations (e.g. give them a copy of how I would have made my decisions). I would let them know they have full latitude to make thier own decisions, and they would always have that voice playing in their head as well.

With a million different gameday situations that could be at play, I don't think it's that simple.

Answer to questions 1-15: Take what the defense is giving me.

How'd I do?

But seriously. I hope our AD doesn't micromanage coaches like that.
Easy response. You wouldn’t get the job. You don’t need to micro manage anybody, but letting them know your mindset is important. You do work for your AD as a coach.

It is simple. You’re down by 2 points with less than a minute on your opponents 22 yard line. What do you do?

My answer. You run the ball to the spot your kicker has the best numbers from. You run as much clock as possible. You kick a FG.

Norvell’s answer: chuck up a jump ball to the endzone.
