And therefore the price of anything that needs to be shipped... or made of plastic... which happens to be just about everything. A tax on a barrel of oil is effectively a hidden sales tax.

The Feds do not need any new taxes, outside of maybe Social security and Medicare tax. and even there I would rather find long term ways to reduce the natural spending increases built into those programs.
