Seriously light and day after halftime. Any self proclaimed gurus have an explanation of what clicked in him (or around him)?
A tired defense doesn't cause his throws to become more accurate.A tired defense
While I agree with you, I think somewhere down the road, Holman is going to get very comfortable in this offense. It probably won't happen next week, but as we enter into conference play, I think Holman will be very well adjusted to the offense and he will become a more dynamic playmaker on offense.A Head Coach that knows how to make halftime adjustments?
looked like they didn't let Holman make a decision at the line in the 2nd half, he was taking the play call from the sideline
I think that you are correct, but the problem is when they do that it defeats the purpose of this type of offense. I was constantly watching the play clock, and plays were run quickly, but not as quickly as I thought that they should have been.A Head Coach that knows how to make halftime adjustments?

true but if a minor tweak like that is needed to get the W so be it. also given how the defense was playing maybe Frost didn't mind slowing it down a little to help that unit the way the game was goingI think that you are correct, but the problem is when they do that it defeats the purpose of this type of offense. Probably a combination of settling down and not overthinking his reads.

Three sacks and two roughing the passer penalties can make anyone gun shy (if not physically shaken). Did you notice that gigantic man monster SCSt had over our tiny center? Their QB was really accurate, got the ball out quick, and was elusive until we hit him a couple times.Holman's 3rd quarter and early 4th quarter were very good...he settled down, set his feet and threw the ball accurately to the open man...and he had time to do it...
in the second half was their D tired, yes....was our OLine better, yes...much better...so let's see how Holman, and just as important the offensive line, plays on Saturday in the Big House....this is early an opportunity for both to step up and shine!

I'm pretty sure Frost said in the post game interview that he made no halftime adjustments whatsoever.
??
The philosophy is that you don't change the system. You identify and address problems of individual players not playing the system well enough. It's a completely different concept from the coach making brilliant halftime adjustments.I'm pretty sure Frost said in the post game interview that he made no halftime adjustments whatsoever. ??

Except our center was outweighed by a hundred or more pounds by that giant they had. He's playing in a game situation for the first time running this offense, and so is everybody else. My guess is it'll be 4 games or so before the lights start to come on for a lot of players. We were also physically superior afterall, it was only SC State. We are likely to get dominated next week but all we'd like to see is better execution from one weeknto the next.

I think that the loss of Hiers may comeyep, the first half was difficult for Holman because he wasn't getting the ball out quickly...he was trying to read the D and missed plenty of wide open receivers....then he got sacked and pressured and his first half failures snowballed on him....but to his credit he came out in the second half and made some quick accurate throws that helped his confidence....then some accurate longer throws that put the game away....
he better start out with quick short throws to build his confidence against Michigan (and not hold the ball)....otherwise it could get ugly
their QB was better than Holman in the first half and comments around me were...could we please swap QB's? but to his credit Holman came back with a very good 3rd and early 4th quarter....
and Rae will be challenged all year in the middle....especially this upcoming week as he is small man for that position and the bis Michigan DL will be taking no prisoners...
They could still go to him mid-season or before if they decide to burn his redshirt (or go to Kruczek). The point at the beginning to get the rest of the offense in sync with the system. Then they can plug anyone in that they want.Either way, 193 yds passing against a not so good defense is terrible. The way they compared Milton to Johnny Football, I'd rather just have him start.

Good comparison. Without the mental instability and immaturityEither way, 193 yds passing against a not so good defense is terrible. The way they compared Milton to Johnny Football, I'd rather just have him start.
Swoopes and Heard having good halves.Texas starting a true freshman at QB over Swoopes who's been there for a few years
Shane Buechele is 6'-2" four-star dual threat who "out competed" a 5-star QB. Much smaller Milton takes one good hit and he's out for the year. Better to prepare him until he catches on to the speed and size of college defenders. That's what they did with Houston's star QB. He entered the game part way through against us and nearly led a spectacular comeback a couple years ago.Texas starting a true freshman at QB over Swoopes who's been there for a few years
Beuchele just threw a long one to start 2nd half. Hes only 6-1 from what ABC showed at start of game. But If hes good enough Id start a freshman too. Prefer a Freshman if we aren't thinking good bowl game with a Sr anyway.Shane Buechele is 6'-2" four-star dual threat who "out competed" a 5-star QB.
