Question... is someone is a "great recruiter" when the results on the field are "meh?"
I've heard it said that Taggart is a great recruiter, but not as good of a head coach. How much of "good recruiting" mean that the student athlete was highly regarded coming out of high school? How much of it is that the coach actually got who he went after? How much of it is how well the student athlete did on the field after he started playing in college? If a coach gets many of the highly touted high school players that he goes after but they don't do that well in college play, is HE a good recruiter? If a coach doesn't get many sought after players, but a number of the guys that others overlooked excel once they start playing in college, is HE the better recruiter? Do you think it's more about exceeding expectations on National Signing Day or exceeding expectations when the clock hits 0:00 and at the end of the season?
BTW, I don't understand the frenzy about how many guys on the roster are from Florida. Personally, I don't care if they're from New York, Wyoming, Mars, Vulcan, or Iota Geminorum IV, as long as they're great student athletes who work hard, represent UCF well, and excel on the field and in the classroom.
