Everyone does. Was at a school function for my daughter last night and overhead the phrase: "...I think they could be the next UCF"
It was Georgia State, he was basically saying it's a big school in a big city with big football talent around it. I didn't want to get involved, so I didn't inject. He's missing a lot of the other advantages, planning, and investments UCF has, but that's all beside the point.
UCF is a household name that was used by a casual fan, to another casual fan and the meaning was immediately understood.
Bahahahaha! They seem to be forgetting that Georgia State competes with the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and Georgia Tech too.
UCF has no direct competition.
Georgia State May be UCF of 2000. See where they are in 2036. See if they are even in a good conference in 15 years.
Vegas and Orlando are the same city except one is geared toward children. Both cities leave you broke, exhausted and wanting to go home. I think Tom Waits called Disney a primer for vegas.
I’m wondering if we have some alum out there who helped make it happen for them.
