You know damn well that you have black friends that have plenty of racist jokes against white people as well. I grew up in 2 ghettoes, one in Chicago and one in Daytona, and the nicest thing that I was called was a cotton ball in a coal mine. And then there was the joking and ridicule based on the darkness of one of my friend’s skin. If you really want to see what racism looks like, go spend time in an Asian country. Fact is, no one has the market cornered on racism.
I didn't pad it. If I would venture to guess the actual number of deaths was in the thousands, probably lower than 20k. I'd be willing to bet that fewer slaves were killed by their owners between 1800 and 1850 than senior citizens that died in New York last year from covid.
Slaves were a pretty highly sought after commodity at that time. Not unlike a tractor or combine today. Yes it was an abhorrent practice but we can also admit to the fact that economically there would be little to no benefit of killing them, since they were essentially a tool of production. In some ways, slaves of the early 19th century were the essential workers we value so much today.
