  • Now holding our 3 opponents to under 30% and near 20% from 3 point range!
  • Charleston one of the best defensive teams in the nation, so it was nice to hold them to 40 point.
  • UCF shot over 50% and 40% of our 3s, and took the home crowd out of the game.
  • Yet another big rebounding advantage, but negated by 17 turnovers and only 7 assists.
  • With Tacko held in check by a good defender and over the back fouls, it was the B J Taylor the shooter show: 4 turnovers and only 1 assist, but 8-13 shooting including 2 of 3 from downtown. As the ESPN color commentator remarked, BJ is so strong and has great body control.
  • Great that Dawkins has an off day to prepare to play the awesome defending national champs.

1 of the announcers is Miles Simon, a pretty good player in his day.

And now a pretty good analyst...as he knew more about UCF players (strengths, weaknesses) than even most of our fans.

He will get a lot smoother...but its nice to hear someone with knowledge.

And I loved his comment that lack of depth even has an upside: players aren't constantly worried that if they make a mistake, they'll be benched. That makes them more relaxed and makes then more floor generals and take ownership of the whole team's performance, rather than just being another piece on the coach's chessboard.

Tako's footwork has been outstanding so far. he looks a lot more comfortable .

It was a great game holding them to 40 points and resting Tacko for most of the game. He should be fresh for the big test on Sunday against Villanova. :sunglasses:

He was fouling. Not resting. He traveled a bit last night. Still some polishing that needs to be done.

You could see he was tired from major minutes the previous night. That's why rest today may be a real benefit to UCF's chances Sunday night.

When I was in my teens I could play basketball every night for 4 hours straight.

No. Played basketball in high school and would also play at park in off-season. Full court from 5pm till 10 pm every night. He supposedly grew up playing soccer. He should be in better shape.
