Women's Basketball Deserves Our Support

Coach Abe has built a powerful program out of nothing. The team is 19-3, 11-1 in the AAC. First place in the conference. They've won 7 in a row. The last five years they finished:

16-5, 12-2
20-10, 11-5
26-7, 13-3
22-10, 12-4
21-12, 9-7

It's actually pretty incredible, because she arrived at UCF the same year as Johnny Dawkins and there is no question that Dawkins inherited a program with much more to build upon than what Coach Abe inherited. We will be lucky to keep her much longer.

As good as Frost was I think it's pretty clear Coach Abe was the best coach Danny hired when he came in. Our WBB was really poor when she came in and it immediately became competitive. Looking like an 8 seed at the moment but for some reason the AP poll has been ignoring them all year.

The men's soccer coach has been exceptional- Scott Calabrese. The team made it to the sweet 16 a couple years back and has several conference championships. They have been consistently ranked in the top 25 and have had several players drafted in the MLS and USL professional leagues. Danny did well with Coach Calabrese as well.

Knights crushed Temple on the road today 68-31. The last 3 games they have given up a combined 99 points which is insane. Clinched a share of the regular season title and next two games are at home

USF has 2 games before we play Saturday. If they lose 1 they can’t even tie us it’s over.

With the win yesterday UCF jumped up to 25th in NET and is a mindblowing 4th in RPI. Obviously RPI is a flawed stat but still really impressive. Unfortunately the AP has been useless at recognizing their success.

LSU, and who else? UCF's beaten Arkansas, USF twice and Seton Hall on the road. No reason for the huge disparity between the two teams imo.

Well AP continues to ignore our team. Only 8 votes at the moment. The good news is that they have made it to 25th in the Coach's poll. That is the first time our women's basketball team has ever been ranked by either poll.

Big accolades for the team today. Battles got POTY, DPOY and 1st team all conference. Coach Abe got Coach of the Year. Sanders and Kaba got 3rd team all conference and Smith got 6th Player of the Year.

Tulsa WBB is exactly like UCF MBB, all about chucking up the 3. They kept it close by getting streaky but now we are wearing them out with a real offense that runs plays, plays great defense and rebounds well.
