Would Frost lose your respect to leave without 1 Bowl Win?

The man took your program from 0-12 to 11-0 in 3 2 years. That's never been done in the long history of CFB.

Leaving before the bowl game would be in EVERYONE'S best interest, including UCF's.
Well if it gets you jackasses off our board, at least there will be one win.

But yeah, abandoning the team for Corn Disney before the game is shitty. I don't care what other coaches do, especially when the system is this broken. If he's the man he likes to be portrayed as, then he'll head to the least recognizable state on a map January 2nd.

Jesus, people jumping off the ship pretty damn quick. A lot of the same people tat thought we'd be just fine if Frost didn't go to the SMU game to call plays. Suddenly, our players are stumbling idiots who can't do anything unless Frost is on the sideline.

No, some of us who have played the game understand promises are in the process of being broken and these fine young men have been thrown into chaos not of their making.......very sad, I feel for them.

We will see how they respond, I will not think any less of them no matter how the next two games go.

Uh, no. He took us from 0-12 to 11-0 in two years. Good Lord, do YOU remember what it was like sitting through every game in 2015? I sure do. That dancing she-Knight with the Aflac graphic sums up 2015 for me.

If I were in his shoes and the roles were reversed, I'd take the UCF job in a heartbeat because it's home for me. Nebraska is home for him. And the CFP dickwads didn't help matters. Everything converged two years too early. He didn't plan this.

I want him to stay, but if not, it sucks for us. I do suspect, however, that he REALLY doesn't want to see his guys look bad in the bowl game, and he will make sure everything's in good hands. He'll make sure the dishes are done. These are his kids, man.

4-8 teams don't go to bowl games, even "blue bloods" like Nebraska.

We know all about bowl games. We have the record for most consecutive bowl games attended until FSU beats whoever it is they'r playing this weekend.

If Frost can recruit and prepare UCF for their bowl game I have no issue with him coaching it. Would UCF even want that though?

I want to go to it (which is not a lock) and be competitive or win it.

Whoever gives us the best shot, however Frost will have too many other obligations. He can coach it and let the assistants prepare. Almost like a figurehead to the players.
It's up to Frost, DW and the team, not the fans

Nebraska will wait for him no matter what day he wants to start. ZERO chance they move on if he says he wants to stay through the bowl game. ZERO. If he leaves before the bowl game, he made that decision 100% himself. In that case, screw him.

You cant put that 100% on him. There is no way to tell what the terms of the deal are, it has not been made public yet. If Scott coaches the Bowl game it is because it was part of his deal with Nebraska, and because DW wants it. Nebraska AD Bill Moos has already gone on the record saying that it is not nearly as important to get this early recruiting period, as it is hiring the right coach. We will all find out Saturday evening.

DW would not want him gone before the bowl game. Why would he want that? Moos has apparently said the early recruiting period is not important, so they will clearly wait. If he decides to leave before the bowl, it is certainly on him.

They won't announce anything Saturday evening. Nebraska fans may want it, but they wont get it. Again, there is no reason to. You don't ruin a conference championship celebration night or you don't pour salt on the wound of a conference championship loss. Nebraska fans better hope their is no announcement on Saturday night, because if there is, it's not good for you. It won't be until Sunday evening at the earliest.

If there is an announcement Saturday Frost okey'd it. Why wouldn't it be good for us?

You/We do not know what the deal is/was. Moos may have demanded being here before the bowl game. DW might have said it is best for all to make a clean break after the CCG, most consider that part of the regular season. Bowl games are considered post season. Unless you are in the room with SF DW Moos you will likely never know what conversation has taken place. We will see the outcome one way or another. Putting whether or not he coaches the Bowl game 100% on Scott Frost is unfair to him.

I can't remember an instance where a lame duck coach stays a month longer to coach a bowl game.....that ain't happening

Moos isn't making any demands on when he is going to start work. If he doesn't land Frost, you will all go full Tennessee and fire him. Don't protect Frost. He holds all the cards and we all know it. Whatever he does from here on out is 100% on him. Own it.

Not really. In a perfect world I'd like him to stay and coach the bowl game, but there are bigger forces at work. My understanding is the vast majority of coaches leave before bowl games for any number of reasons, mainly recruiting, but sometimes the school doesn't want them to remain, sometimes the hiring school needs them ASAP, etc. It's just a reality of the situation of him taking a new job (if he did).
It is more the hiring school vs the incoming coach. Outside of the playoff bowls. Bowls are for fun. The hiring school wants the new coach to get started asap. Especially now with the early signing period. If Frost or any new hired coach wouldn't be around for his new teams early signing period. I understand being angry. Guessing if Frost leaves (and he will) before your bowl it is more due to the Neb demanding it vs Frost wanting too.

Him staying until after the bowl game is only going to hurt in the long run. As for setting up next season rankings by winning bowl game, guarantee the preseason rankings will be lower because of Frost leaving. All that publicity all season long has been squarely focused on Frost.

Keeping him only makes sense if someone below is being promoted and he is mentoring. On the flipside, for Frost's sake it makes no sense staying. It worked out better for him to leave Oregon before bowl game.

How does it hurt in the long run?

New coach has less time to meet with the team, recruit players. Has a really truncated recruiting season. When and if it is made official, there will be disruption in the recruiting process for UCF. Kind of hard to commit to a school when you have no idea who you are committing to playing for, never mind if the coach has a different offensive/defensive scheme.

I think I saw $10 mil mentioned in another thread.

$3 Million max, or half his remaining salary. Dabo Swinney buyout is $6 Million. I don't think any coach has to pay more. Saban doesn't even have to pay a dime if he left.

Ya know what? I forgot that you can't have them both (Frost and the new coach) working because we'd exceed the number of allowed coaches. So yes, I understand and agree with your point.

Cowards way out if he leaves before the bowl. Persona non grata if he takes staff before the bowl.

With the early December signing period you are almost forced to leave. He won’t be the only one but what sucks is we won’t have much time to keep the recruits we have.

If he does that F-him and I hope he never gets the opportunity again to be a head coach for a NY6 bowl. That is how I would feel about.

I just want to win the last 2 games. I don't care if Firm_Bizzle coaches it

We win the last 2 and the Frost era is over. He left us as high on the top of the G5 mountain as any team in history.

We will be in perfect position for a new coach and a new era in 2018

How does that all sound?

Preseason ranking will depend on the replacement. With the talent coming back I don't think we would drop. USF ended 2016 at #19 and didn't drop with a new coach coming in due to the talent they were returning.

I am a little more vengeful, lol. We all know it is the program and he would leave us better off than when he got here. But I can't stand how the national media just ignores what O'Leary and Hitt did to build a program. Now that mantle is thankfully passed to Danny White, all good things going forward.
