I hate to agree with you but I think we are all on board that a lot of these congressional members are trying to have their viral moment by being outlandish. Most of the timr this just end up with them looking dumb. I can point to democrats who do this too. This embarrassing exchange was from yesterday.

I can think of few viral moments where I came away thinking, "wow, that Congressperson nailed it." Usually, like the one I posted above, I'm thinking 'Omigod, how can someone be THIS DUMB and get elected to Congress??!?!'
