Fire Gus

I was thinking that since UCF won't be in a bowl game this year, maybe the athletics department could have a fundraiser to collect money to buy Gus out instead. Think of all the $$$ the fans shelled out on bowl games in the past. People spend money on travel, tickets, meals, souvenirs and transportation. This year, people will have all of that money left over. Maybe they will contribute to a buyout.
While the idea has good intent, think about why this problem exists to begin with. The ATHLETIC DIRECTOR gave Gus a ridiculous extension. If anyone should be paying for a buyout, it should be out of his own pocket.

Fire Gus

If we don’t have millions in our Athletic Accounts, people should be fired. This is a business. It’s not being run in the red. No one is withdrawing money as soon as a profit is made. The money gets put back into making facilities better and operating costs. 3 mill per home game is profit. That’s 18 mill. Plus whatever money is earmarked already for projects. I’d rather get rid of a bad coach than upgrade stadium or facilities right now. Wait a couple years when excitement is back to do upgrades and use that money.

Even companies that file bankruptcy, can spend frivolously. The money is there. Repurpose it.

and to your point why upgrade the stadium if no one is coming to games.

Deion Sanders linked to UCF job if Gus retires

If they aren’t getting the money they need, find someone that people can rally behind. Gus is not it and people aren’t giving money to him for losses. No one wants to go to Indiana and their coach has them only losing to Ohio State. I like how loud he is. He’d fit our fanbase perfectly. He’s my go to. I’m not sure we would be only suitors and he likes being at Indiana.

Cignetti is making $8 million a year with retention bonuses that make it a $72 million contact. UCF would probably have to pay $30 million just to have him break his contract then another $70-100 million to play for UCF.

A little positivity from Knoxville-ran into the GOAT this morning…

Leaving the hospital this morning after a depressing night thinking about the game/season and pulled up to a stop light next to a blacked out Maxima. Noticed they had a UCF tag which isn’t abnormal in Knoxville, so I rolled down my window to yell Charge On! This guy clearly knew what was up bc he immediately opened his window and all that came out of the car was 🤙…

Once I saw who I was dealing with said ‘we love you’ . He said it back, said he’s hurting with us this season but knows it’ll get better.

He obviously works for Tennessee but he’s got UCF stuff all over his car. What a dude
