OT: Another UGA Player Arrested for Reckless Driving (at 106 mph)

If you had Week 3 on your UGA Player Arrest Card...you win!

This Player on Thur Night was only going 106 mph (speed limit 65) as his:

"vehicle had a temporary tag that expired Aug. 4, and his vehicle registration expired March 8. He had no proof of insurance and affixed materials on his vehicle that reduced visibility of his windows/windshield, all according to the incident report. He was also charged with driving without wearing a seatbelt."
He was released on a $50 Bond. (Big money!)
Harris did play in the first 2 games of the season but no clue if he will play today.

UCF Fast & Slow – Nebraska Trip Recap / Colorado Scout

It was weird as hell for me to have a UCF home football game on and me not be able to watch it or even get updates (more on this later) other then the score updates in the Stadium. As I noted last week, I was at Nebraska for the game Saturday night. I promised everyone a review on Nebraska, a scout on Colorado and I will throw in some UCF thoughts as well.

Nebraska: This was my first trip ever to Nebraska, first game. I got some great treatment, took a tour of the facilities Friday afternoon and had field passes for the game. Here are my thoughts…

Fast:
  • Facilities: They just opened up their new facility this season. It is absolutely incredible. So many cool things to point out but the two I thought were the best was that they have a walk through room where the offense or defense can line up on a turf lined field facing a massive screen run by like 6 projectors that puts the other team your playing on the screen so players can line up and walk through game plans. Really cool. The best thing was these sensory deprivation tanks. They are like giant glowing clams, players can go into them and float for relaxation and treatment. I put my hand in one and the water felt amazing, hard to describe the texture but salt was coming off my hand for the rest of the day. There was several of these tanks, also a bunch of sleep pods, gaming room, lounges, crazy gym, I have some pretty cool photos. Very solid facilities. You can see how this has an impact on recruiting and how far UCF has to go. Of course Nebraska has a massive head start but good to see what we can get to one day, i know we will.

  • Game Atmosphere: They clearly know what they are doing. Everything is on point from the music to the traffic control. Fans were very loud. I always thought the loudest I have heard at a game was at Arrowhead, this gave that experience a run for its money. Fans are loud, 90k+, they are not messing around, they are engaged in every play from start to finish, you can tell how much this means to them. Terrance Crawford led them out of the tunnel with his championship belt on his shoulder. I am a big boxing fan so this was cool to see. One odd thing... they did bring back an old tradition for this game, they give everyone a red ballon when they enter the stadium and the fans have to hold it until the first score and then they let them go. 90k+ red balloons after the first score, they were like the IT balloon (lots of "we all float down here jokes"), those things were floating around for the rest of the game, thought it was odd they were allowed to do this, you would think some environmentalist would have stopped that. Some cool photos though, cool to see just seems aggressively anti-environment.

  • Dylan Raiola: This guy is the real deal. To see how good he is as a true freshman is scary. I thought all the Mahommes comparisons were silly since he hadnt done anything yet but meeting him and seeing him up close, he can be really special. This is huge for Nebraska if they can keep him for 3 years, Nebraska can be a force in the Big 10 and in recruiting with him at QB. At end of game i was on field and everyone was mobbing him and he came running right at me, didnt realize his parents were right behind me. I got a cool photo of him embracing his dad and his mom crying and brother smiling. Just perfect timing, then the media swarmed. We sent photo to Dylan's parents and they loved it. i thought that was a cool experience.

  • T-Shirt Cannon: They had this truck driving on the field with a Gatling gun shooting out t-shirts to the upper deck. It was amazing, be so cool if UCF could do something like that. This thing was shooting shirts out like mad, thought someone was going to get hurt, it was awesome.

***Updated: WR Davis Mallinger commits to UCF***

UCF's coaches can't be on the road this spring, but that doesn't mean recruiting has stopped. The staff is still evaluating prospects with one of the most recent offers being issued to a speedster over on the Space Coast.

Davis Mallinger, a 6-foot-1, 176-pound wide receiver from Viera, was informed on Friday by assistant coach Darrell Wyatt that he had an offer from UCF.

"I communicate with Coach Wyatt often," Mallinger said. "They like my speed and he thinks I can push the program to new levels . They talked about if I could graduate early so I can get ahead of the competition since they are graduating three starters."

UCF represented the first big offer for Mallinger, who said he's had his eye on the program for several years.

"It's a school that I have dreamed about playing at for awhile now," Mallinger said. "I love the direction the program is going in. It's close to home so my family can watch me play. I also think I would be a good fit at UCF."

Mallinger hasn't had a proper visit yet, but hopes to do that as soon as possible.

"I was supposed to visit during spring break, but with everything going on I will have to visit at a later time," he said.

UCF senior wide receiver Tre Nixon is also a Viera product, graduating as part of the 2016 class.

"I've been working out with Tre for the past couple weeks," Mallinger said. "We've talked about UCF. He's talked to me about the campus and all the facilities. He's been getting me right, giving me advice about the whole recruiting process and everything."

Mallinger was named to Florida Today's All-Space Coast First Team after a season in which he caught 46 receptions for 742 yards and seven touchdowns. He was in the midst of a standout track season as well, breaking the Viera record in the 200 meters with a time of 22.03 and also posting a 10.74 time in the 100 meters.

Ot- Direct Tv Disney dispute

So went to go watch the us open before the lsu game and got the message that direct tv and espn are in contract dispute. Thus everything Disney owns and operates will be cut off from direct tv.

So basically no mnf, no laughing at fsu get carved up by Tommy c tonight, no us open. And if they don’t agree by this weekend no cfb. Oh and no mnf if it doesn’t get resolved.

This also potentially affects those who can’t travel to Orlando this week since you can’t sign into watch espn.

And yeah I know I can get the Disney bundle, but as a teacher i’m ****ing poor and can only pay for so much.

UCF at TCU Viewing Parties

Figure to start a thread to list all known viewing parties in Orlando and around the country.

Self-serve taps mean people won't have to wait for refills on their drinks (beer, wine and even margaritas on tap). Also, Kingdom donors get 15% off their entire tab plus a free drink.
