Sons of UCF Interview - Shane Burnham

Former UCF Defensive Coach Shane Burnham (2018-20) joined the Sons of UCF for an interview about his time with the Knights.

Hired as part of the original staff under Head Coach Josh Heupel, Burnham was a big part of establishing the defensive identity under coordinator Randy Shannon.

In this conversation, Burnham talks about the dynamic of taking over a team that was undefeated the year prior, getting players to buy-in, some of the head scratching losses, and the process of finding out he would be leaving UCF.

Bowls are dead

After seeing some of these matchups for teams just outside the playoffs, bowls are officially dead. You’re gonna have opt outs on another level this year I’m guessing and it will only get worse in future years. Football is a violent sport with a high risk of injury. Can’t blame these kids for not wanting to play in a meaningless money grab game. So long bowls.

OT: Pickleball

Is anyone playing Pickleball? I’ve been playing for about 6 months and I’m crazy addicted. It’s great exercise, social, fun, and fast paced.
So many Star Athletes and celebrities are buying teams and courts are going up all over the country. It’s almost impossible to find an open court near my home. Does anyone know of any investment opportunities in the space?

UCF MBB: The Knights cruise past Jacksonville to end non-conference play

The UCF Knights Men's Basketball team closed out non-conference play with an easy win over the Jacksonville Dolphins, 86-66.

Darius Johnson and Jordan Ivy-Curry provided the scoring punch, but perhaps the biggest story was the return of guard Jaylin Sellers and the debut of guard Mikey Williams.

Coach Johnny Dawkins is pleased with how the non-conference schedule has played out for the Knights, but he knows there will be challenges ahead as Big 12 play begins on December 31st against Texas Tech.
