NEW COLUMN from Dali Drama: The UCF Knights Take on the Bright Lights of Vegas

We’re getting close my friends and nothing echoes that sentiment more than Big 12 Football Media Days arriving. Who would have thought the makeup of this conference two years ago and of all the places having media days set in Las Vegas? It’s a rather fitting backdrop when you think about it. An oasis and marvel of a destination in the middle of the desert that should not exist, molded by unnatural forces bigger than itself, built on dark money and vice. That is the Big 12 in a nutshell. This seemingly random aggregate of schools who have all trauma bonded through conference realignment into something unique, intriguing, and most of all FUN.

OT: FSU has Day and Night Construction Crews working on Doak Campbell Renovation

They only way they could get the stadium completed by July 2025 was to have day and night crews working on the project.

I wondered if UCF might do the same to build the new tower or for future stadium projects? (Or will NIMBY's shutdown any chance for work to be done at night?)

FSU Donors got to tour the stadium and signed a steel beam this weekend.

Orlando Sentinel Projected WR Depth Chart YGTBFKM

I understand as a reporter you don't get paid much. I also understand that you don't have to have a lot of common sense or football knowledge to get a job among the shrinking pool of applicants in the dying industry of print journalism.

Still, I cannot let this go unreposted.

Ron here (last name Ron, first name Mo) thinks Ja'Varrius Johnson is third team. Ron done lost his d*mn mind.

It is bad enough not list Agiye Hall on the depth chart, but to put Johnson third team is a fireable offense.

Projected depth chart
WR1 — Kobe Hudson
WR1 — Xavier Townsend
WR1 — Trent Whittemore

WR2 — Bredell Richardson
WR2 — Jarrad Baker
WR2 — Jacoby Jones

WR3 — Tyree Patterson
WR3 — Ja’Varrius Johnson
WR3 — Chauncey Magwood

Matt Murschel can be reached at mmurschel@orlandosentinel.com

I can't decide between Jacoby Jones and Agiye Hall for the X position. I love Agiye Hall, but some (not me) think Jones can have a Brandon Johnson-caliber season for UCF. So it is like spitting hairs for me between Jones and Hall.

I have to go full nuclear on this Xavier Townsend take.

@MattMuschel WTH man? Do you watch football? Townsend is "getting butter." I would start Jarrad Baker over his @$$. There is literally not one thing Townsend can do better than Johnson, except maybe return punts and that's highly debtable. Johnson ain't depth. He is electric. Johnson is faster, stronger, has better hands, is more seasoned, etc.

No! No! No!

Johnson entered the portal on Dec. 15, and Gus offered the same day! Johnson was the No. 1 WR at AUBURN. The No. 2 guy is probably going to start at USC. Gus didn't sign Johnson in the early signing period. Townsend would have hit the portal. It is that simple.

Johnson will get most of the route running snaps AND most of the jet sweep snaps AND will split blocking snaps with Baker. Townsend will get the leftover snaps. By the Big 12 home opener: The snap breakdown will look like this: Johnson, 40%; Baker, 30%-40%; Townsend, 20%-30%.

EDIT: All of the projected depth charts have Xavier Townsend changing positions to X, but I still don't think he belongs on the same field with Johnson, Hall, Jones, and Hudson.

Epsteins list

So looks like trump was completely vindicated again.

But Clinton apparently “likes em young” according to unsealed testimony. This is problematic given that Epstein was the democrat’s biggest donor and that several other tards…i mean libs were on the list notably Jimmy “blackface” Kimmel, David copperfield, and a former FBI Director.

Looks like another one of those conspiracy theories turned out true

***Four-star LB TJ Alford checks out UCF ⚔️🏈

Tarvos "TJ" Alford, a four-star linebacker and the nation's No. 68 overall prospect, visited UCF this past weekend. The Vero Beach star is currently committed to Ohio State, but is continuing to monitor other programs.

"It was great being around the coaches and players, just getting a feel for them" Alford said. "We went down to Universal. I was able to talk to Coach (Ted) Roof and learn about the game plan how they would use me in the scheme."

Serial scammer poses as a UCF football player

Police say Xavier Dorcely was allegedly targeting students by pretending to be a football player short on rent. He would wear a UCF tshirt and UCF slides, so he could blend in.

“He would ask them to send him money directly to the rent company using apple pay because his cash app was down, and students would send him hundreds of dollars to pay his rent for him and then he would show them a screen shot of a pending transaction that they were going to get the money back from their cash app, and he ended up not giving their money back."

--30--

He must have found the dumpster where Justin Hodges stashed his UCF gear.

This marks the second time in less than a year that some random bum has impersonated a UCF football player.

Finally, an argument exists for why Gus should update the roster.
