So when do we get a detailed update on recruiting?

Been awhile… A month away from signing day and aside from little rumors here and there, it’s been quiet. I understand we’re probably not taking full class being that we’ll hit the transfer portal hard again, but can we get a list of guys we’re looking good with or should be looking out for? Should we expect any surprises? Thanks

I’m gonna white knight here. Brandon has been getting undeserved bs lately for things he can’t control, and why not give him a reminder that we acknowledge his blood, sweat and tears.

OT: Sopranos 'Woke Up This Morning' behind the scenes book

I've been reading this 'behind the scenes' book by Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa, it's freaking amazing so far. It's based on a series of podcasts they did over the past couple years. It's funny hearing that Steve still has a beef with Michael over his first day on the set (Michael practically ignored him), with Michael saying he doesn't owe any apology. Other funny tidbits such as Steve insisting that he's smarter than a dolphin (Michael was saying they're smarter than humans), and Steve being incredulous that Michael believes in the supernatural.

Plus lots of good actual behind-the-scenes stuff, such as the fact that they weren't planning on snow for the Pine Barrens episode.

Hulu Bowl the bounce house Jan 14th Saturday Noon.

Hey, I went to last year's Hulu bowl and it was super fun game to attend. The attendance was very low so it was easy just to sit whereever you wanted.

Game was close and entertaining. KZ had a chance to win it at the end.

It was McKenzie Milton last game in the bounce house and was proud to cheer for him when he was there.

This year some more UCF players are in this game. I know Bowser and Sam Jackson are playing. Probably more but haven't checked.

Thus, just giving a shout out to attend this game if interested. On the website tix are 50 bucks on West side, and 15 on East Side. East Side has the sun in your face. But, last year's game I just got cheapest tickets and sat in a couple different spots as there was not that many people there. Maybe 15K.

Also, would be cool if we could have a UCF section. Emulate the zombie nation when we need to...Uh... Bounce. Surely a good way to get on Tv and fly those new UCF Big12 flags!

For beer drinkers like me they had a local deland brewery selection.

I was in hog heaven, Craft Beer and football...plus, could spread my legs.

Jan 14 still some time away, so no need to buy tickets now and commit. But, Think about it.

What I'm Hearing: UCF is recruiting a 2021 SWFL forward

The recruitment of three-star Riverdale (Fort Myers) H.S. forward Tyrone Baker is picking momentum.

UCF head coach Johnny Dawkins called Baker last week.

UNC-Wilmington, McNeese State, Florida Atlantic and East Tennessee State all offered this month. Baker also holds offers from East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Iona, Louisiana-Monroe, McNeese State, Stetson, and UNC-Wilmington.

usf has been quietly recruiting Baker for some time and have had him on campus for unofficial visits. They like him but the positions they need to fill in the 2021 cycle are point guard and either a small forward or a guy who is versatile enough to play shooting guard or small forward.

According to a source, East Carolina currently "is recruiting him the hardest by far."

Baker is a skinny 6-foot-8 forward who might weigh 185-pounds, soaking wet with a roll of quarters in his pockets, but this kid has really been working on his game during the dead period. Particularly his shooting and his ball handling.

In fact, after the SWFL session of the Team Parsons Virtual Player Evaluation Series, held Saturday June 20, I mentioned Baker in this Tweet:

Since the first time I saw him in April 2019, I’ve always thought Baker was an intriguing, mobile, bouncy, active big, who runs the floor, finishes above the rim, is a good out of area rebounder, and a capable shot blocker in need of improvement with his offensive skills.

Well, he has worked on those skills and has really improved. Baker shows flashes of shot making and play making ability. If that continues we are talking about a small forward instead of the power forward he has projected to be.

Shakespeare on the team in Tampa

I asked the ChatGPT AI to write a Shakespeare scene where two characters discuss the USF Bulls.

"Ah, college football season is upon us once more," said one character. "But pray tell, what news have you heard of the USF Bulls?"

"The USF Bulls?" replied the other character with a sneer. "They are nothing more than a rabble of misbegotten players, fit only for the scrap heap. Their coaches are bumbling fools, their strategies asinine, and their players so untalented that they cannot even manage a single win against a decent team."

"Ha! I daresay their quarterback is no more than a common lout, fumbling about on the field like a drunken swine," said the first character with a laugh. "And their defense is so porous that a child could run through their ranks with ease."

"Indeed," agreed the second character. "They are a pitiful excuse for a football team, and a disgrace to the sport. It is a wonder that they are allowed to take the field at all, given their utter lack of skill and ability."

"Well, I suppose there is always the chance that they may stumble upon some small measure of success by sheer accident," said the first character with a shrug. "But I would not count on it. The USF Bulls are a laughing stock, and will likely remain so for the foreseeable future."
