Just watched the Texas BAND play the National Athem. No singer accompaniment. Just the band, nice tempo, stadium full of red-blooded Texans singing our Anthem.
I, too, like to sing our National Anthem. But it seems that our guest singers believe this occasion is an audition for their next gig. Trying to sing along with a slow-paced theatrical performance doesn't work.

Marching Knights: play the National Anthem and honor America.

It says an error occurred every time I try to read it. Anyone else having the same problem?

When Terry Mohajir was hired in February 2021 to serve as UCF’s next athletics director, he had a problem.

The previous UCF AD, Danny White, who departed for the same job at Tennessee, left holes in UCF football’s future non-conference schedule.

The Knights only had three of their four non-conference games scheduled in 2022, two for the following two years, one in ‘25 and ‘27 and none in ‘26. The non-conference slate beyond 2027 was empty.

Mohajir, who hired former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn after White brought Josh Heupel with him to Tennessee, moved quickly to schedule football games.

Mohajir scheduled a future three-game series with the Florida Gators and a pair of home-and-home series with FAU and Maryland.

Things soon changed dramatically for Mohajir and Malzahn as the Knights accepted an invitation to a Power Five league: The Big 12 Conference.

“It changes everything,” Mohajir told the Orlando Sentinel on Tuesday. “We have to flip the switch on our non-conference scheduling.”

UCF welcomes Georgia Tech into the Bounce House this Saturday when toe meets leather at 4 p.m. on ESPNU. It's the return game of a home-and-home series that began in Atlanta in 2020, which was a 49-21 Knights victory.

The Yellow Jackets are 1-2, which includes a win against FCS Western Carolina (35-17) and losses to Clemson (41-10) and Ole Miss (42-0). Most schools would have the same record against that schedule, but the start has raised the temperature level on head coach Geoff Collins' hot seat. He has a 10-27 overall record early into his fourth season on The Flats.

There are many ties between the two schools. George O'Leary is a former head coach at both GT and UCF and he's expected to be in attendance for this game. GT AD Todd Stansbury, who may be on the hot seat himself, spent three years at UCF from 2012-15. And Collins' GT staff includes several former UCF assistant coaches, notably Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Line Coach Brent Key. At one time, Key was thought to perhaps be UCF's heir apparent to O'Leary who would eventually take over as head coach.

During our conversation, we talk about the state of Georgia Tech football, the status of Collins and Stansbury, who fans might like to see if a head coaching change is made, the recruiting and NIL landscape at GT and finally about this game including players to watch in the White & Gold.

For all other scores RB, kickers, defenders, punt/ kick off returns you must call the yardage and the name of the player. Closest to the yardage wins. Haven't been to a live game in a few years unfortunately but I'm very excited to be taking my 6 y/o with me this weekend. She's super excited about everything, but mostly excited to take a picture with Knightro. Any tips on my most guaranteed option? Thanks!

Any other tips on kid friendly stuff would be greatly appreciated as well. I saw the Knightro club thing but it says it starts at 12, not sure I'll be able to get there due softball practice commitments.

I do think the perfect weather over the next few days will cause more folks to decide to buy tix for a game with basically almost ZERO % chance of rain...and with lower than normal temps predicted on Game Day (high of just 86...with temps falling after 5 pm).

There are some end zone resales for $20 - $23 per ticket...but I just saw two different sets pop up for $15-$16 each so if you just want to get in (maybe your kid is a student at UCF and didnt' win the lottery this week...$15 they could get in and still sit in the student section with their friends).
