UCF AD Terry Mohajir: No timetable yet for exit from American

Matt Murschel spoke with TMo. Snippet:

Do you have a timetable for a possible exit?

Mohajir: “We’re working with the conference offices, and I know they have some decisions they must make on teams and schedules and all that kind of stuff going forward, so we’re waiting on them. We’re working with them.”

Is it your intent to still get out by 2023?

Mohajir: “Not necessarily. It’s like we’ve told the Big 12, we won’t be any later than July 2024, and all three schools said that. Either way, we’re very excited.”

UCF Women’s Softball Hosted Oakland today. We won 3-0. Pictures and interviews included.

Redshirt Freshman 5 Star WR, who was rumored to batter a girlfriend last year (and then was privately suspended for 2 games), did much worse this time around.

OT: Official UCF Knights Bourbon Thread

tMB has a huge thread on the same subject. Thought it may do well here as well, especially on a more personal/localized level.

Basically, this will serve as a forum for generally discussing bourbon, and an exchange of sorts.

As most know, the bourbon market is insane right now, with bottles frequently being sold at values far exceeding MSRP, and that is if they’re even available in that area.

For example, I just bought a EHT Small Batch for $59.99 this past weekend. I hadn’t seen one in 6+ months, so I was shocked it was available and also quite happy to pay that price, especially considering the EHT Rye usually goes for +$89.99 in my area (Jupiter, FL).

Been trying to get my hands a bottle of Blanton’s Single Barrel and Elmer T. Lee for months without luck.

What says you, folks.

Here is a good chuckle for a Wednesday afternoon

I get the Tampa Bay paper need feed since the bowl and up pops the headline , Meet the USF Presidential Applicant whose number one goal is power 5. I read it and it's like everything else bulls. It's just a guy with 3 masters degrees rambling on about the bulls who applied for the job now twice but some how the Tampa paper gives him street cred. One line in there he said he would go to Tally and ask the legislature for more money for football to bring it up to par with the Gators and Seminoles. 😂 I was like like why didn't UCF think of that years ago?

Insider’s Thread: Florida schools coming after 14 offer 2024 in-state CB Jaylen Heyward

Corner or safety, line Jaylen Heyward up anywhere in the secondary and he’s making the play. Stealing passes for Rockledge during the 2021 season has made Heyward a 2024 national recruit, but one in-state Florida programs want to keep home.

Speed, fluid hips, open field tackling and a headiness for the game that is hard to find; and he gets some carries out of the backfield. Heyward has the speed to be a next level corner and the range to play free safety. Offers have been dropped from teams like Florida State, Pitt, Indiana, Mississippi State, Iowa State, South Florida and UCF ready to find that fit for him in their secondary.

A short drive from Florida’s east coast to Orlando, Heyward made a game-day stop with UCF during the fall months. Heyward shared the experience.

“They treated me like family, it felt like home – it is right by my home,” Heyward said. “They want me to stay.”

Another Saturday trip was taken to Tallahassee seeing Florida State.

“It was a good visit,” Heyward stated. “It was a fun experience. I liked the campus.”

A third program putting in the effort to keep him in the Sunshine State is South Florida. The Bulls have made the trip to his campus to help build the bond.

“USF has come by my school – they like me,” Heyward said. “They told me I move like a gazelle.”

No visits have been set, but safe bets that more in-state visits will be had in the coming months.
