Yes 2 more months of Austin, that's great. I would still like his replacement to be better than him. I wasn't crazy about his choice as he is 100% CENTCOM focused, I had high hopes of a INDOPACOM experience replacement.
Of course all the decisions aren't made by one person. But the single person who makes the most decisions is the SECDEF. I'd like that person to be the most capable and competent experienced professional that we have available. Not a mainstream media talking head.
Yes I do think the PRC is positioning itself to be capable to invade Taiwan. And this dangerous choice 100% makes it more likely. This sends a massive signal to the PLA that our leader is weak/inexperienced, they may see this as the opening they need.

Pete is not qualified by anyone's standards. This isn't a simple difference in opinion. Nominating Marco Rubio as Secretary of State is a difference of opinion. He is a qualified and competent cabinet member that has the appropriate experience necessary for a position of that magnitude.
