We need an extra truck tax. That will stop the problems. I'm not saying we should ban trucks, but maybe force people into smaller trucks like Ford Rangers. If that doesn't work, we can all agree this is Bush's fault.

Maybe Obummer giving a speech will help. They aren't getting the peace and love message so maybe more speeches will work. Maybe adding a bunch of refugees will calm them down? I'm open to whatever Obama forces down our throats.

Serious question. Considering what's occurred during the past year in France, why was a truck of this size allowed anywhere near this event? Especially without being searched?
Serious answer: It's an unmarked 28 ft box truck. It doesn't get more common than that. Could've been the caterer, chair rentals, tent rentals, could've been anything.

I wouldn't blink an eye if I saw a semi or mid-sized semi driving down the road in a major city.
They had barriers up to make the road "pedestrian only"; clearly those barricades sucked. It worked about as well as a gun free zone.
I don't agree I think they should have had barricades and any vehicle entering those should have been searched.
Ok- and? They need to identify these guys before they execute plans; if he's already in the truck and has the intent to kill, they're too late. People will die in some capacity.
Just like our authorities are too late when they investigate guys for cause, end up with nothing, and eventually watch them kill people in a nighclub.
The most interesting thing is that the truck was packed with guns and explosives. It's almost as if other attackers were supposed to unload and use these at some point but never did.
We don't know how the whole thing started. For all we know, dude approached the entrance as normal and then proceeded to plow people.
I get that this is major news but it's unreal how giddy CNN becomes every time a plane crashes or a terrorist does something.

For LIVE event coverage of events happening world-wide, CNN seems to have the most resources available...hence why their best ratings are during times like these.
While FOX NEWS "regular programming" dominates the TV ratings...many FOX viewers (like myself) switch to CNN when something happens world-wide...as they have the most correspondents/news connections, etc...of any network.
Maybe CNN anchors realize their ratings are soaring when "bad" events happen that receive LIVE coverage.
They likely had plenty of barricades in the area. That doesnt mean a lot when you have a big box truck going fast. How do you search a speeding truck crashing through barricades?
Do your parents still chop up your food for you? You know, so you dont choke on the bigger pieces.
Then its a weak barricade. When I worked at the Navy building off-campus back in '02 they had temporary concrete barricades that no vehicle drive through with any real speed without wrecking. They could have setup the same for one of the largest events in their country. Thinking back to the Super Bowl held in New York, I'm pretty sure no truck of this nature could just drive up without being inspected, but maybe I'm crazy.

France has a problem starting long ago, when they installed a PC Police type government with a bunch of socialists at the helm, all of whom decided that they would make it unacceptable to demand any type of assimilation for people moving into the country, and guaranteed welfare and government benefits to anyone who simply resides in the country.
The end result was an influx of Arab and N Africans immigrants who set up their own communities, completely removed from French society, yet still got all of the benefits from the state.
And yet, the left wing in this country wants open borders, erosion of culture, and a new wave of entitlements.

Compared to the right that wants to deport 11 million people Hispanics. Ban Muslims from immigrating into the country and question\deport the ones that are here. Implement voter ID for the remaining minorities or re-draw their districts to diminish their voting power. Lastly, remove all regulations and entitlements so that corporations and the rich can screw over the middle and lower class at will, in the name of trickle down economics.
You need an ID to cash a check, use a CC in some places, drive a vehicle, get on a plane or train, get a job, buy cigarettes or booze, etc, etc, etc. Everyone has an ID of some form.

You would go there. There is a reason these attacks are happening in France consistently and not everywhere else. Upwards of 15 percent of their poplulation is Muslim. But the French have done everything in their power to not assimilate this group of ppl into their society.
They live off welfare in poverty stricken, crime filled neighborhoods that is nothing but blocks and blocks of Muslim families. It is nothing but a breeding ground for crime and extremism and a lot of it stems from discontent and lack of economic opportunities.
Unlike France, the US and Britain have done a good job at assimilating Muslims into society. That's why I disapprove so much about what Trump is saying. That kind of thinking and action breeds extremism and attacks. We've had attacks by lone wolfs self radicalized, but we don't have nearly the problem France does. I'd like to keep it that way.

Do you know how impossible it is to setup concrete barriers everywhere? Think about game day at UCF when everyone walks on the roads around the arena. No way to stop it unfortunately.
It is shocking that a terrorist attack in this country hasn't occurred at a college sporting event. Little to no security, thousands of people congregated together--it really is a recipe for disaster should a group of assholes want to take advantage.
