For those who have been Knight fans through Division II and Division III (not Bianci) we're seeing something special coming together with our program.

A culture of winning, having fun and recruiting from local Florida high schools is evolving at the Division I level for UCF. The staff that Frost is building is good enough to carry this culture forward when ever he decides to move forward. No, everybody wont leave with him because they love the gem we know we have here in Central Florida. Most likely either the OC or DC will take the helm.

This culture will give the fans access to more bowl games than we had in the past as it wont take 4 years to get a good team together using the previous approach from the past. I'm thankful for what they've done but we're not a Michigan that has its pick of athletes to use any football philosophy.

#UCFast and #UCFierce is here to stay!

Back at you Bianci --- we know; good writers think they need to cry wolf :)

Really, truly pathetic that beer keeps you at a UCF game. What a pathetic bunch of losers. UCF is the reason, not beer. You really can wait a couple of hours to drink and become an ass. But if that's what it takes to get you losers to stay in your damn seat and watch the damn game, then we should do it. It's pathetic that you losers need it, and it's pathetic that we don't sell it. I mean really, grow up, sell the damn sh.. If you're really afraid of bad behavior, then throw the drunks out!

I nostalgically recall getting spilled on most games. Beers were weapons of choice to dowse nearby fans who pissed you off. Also, great excuse for not having to clap. Then there were the rowdies getting removed -- added distractions to the game on the field.

I forgot about all the ejections during the games. I use to sit behind the visitors bench at Citrus Bowl and there was always someone who was obnoxious and had the whole section pissed off at them before they were ejected. Lots of cops active in stadium crowd back then. Don't see it now.

Thanks for mentioning. There were elderly and families with kids in those visitors section. Unrelenting harassment by inebriated creeps is not a home-field advantage right. I took my kids to away games, and we didn't get that treatment.

KV82, what level were you on at the Citrus Bowl. We had a rowdy group of fans in our section directly in back of the away team there. Many episodes of all type of things! Yelling, falling, drinking, Ka-razy! (Of course I was younger) :)

I was in row E of that group. I have nothing against beer drinking, I've done my share but it seems to make the crazies get crazier.

I felt like I was at Shea Stadium during those days where there is always plenty of activity in the stands.

Man 80'sKnight you don't know sarcasm when you see it. Even still you have to admit that beer was a big part of attendance in the 1980s. But back then underage drinking was not a capital offense and the drinking age was 19 (at least until 1985). Without beer I bet some of our now most respectable and supportive fans would have found other places to be on a Saturday night then to be in crack town watching UCF play Eastern Southern Kentucky School for the Blind.

Now underage drinking is punishable by electric chair and apparently kids don't know how to party without being out of control.

Wait...I'm pathetic for wanting to drink beer AND watch football? You need to turn in your Man-Card. That is if you ever had one. LOL. I love the varied opinions on this forum, but please don't call Beer-drinking-football-fans pathetic as you just diss'd about 90 percent of us!

No, you're pathetic for needing beer to watch football and if not getting it leaving the game early to go get it. You need to visit AA. You can actually wait an entire 3 hours till you get drunk. I was referring to the several threads on here that say it's the only way you'll get attendance, or keep it.

It sounds ridiculous that some people aren't as into it for pure football reasons, but we're preaching to the converted already in here. We go to the games as is for our football team. In order to get more casual fans into a stadium you need to make going into the games a more attractive social event. Reliable Wifi access, in-game entertainment, better food and beverage options - these are things that can attract more people to and keep them in the stadium. It would be easier to convince some of my friends who aren't rabid fans to come to games and stay if we offered more amenities, to include a good local craft beer selection or something similar. It would be nice to have the option to enjoy a beer in the stadium. After all, this isn't Saudi Arabia.

It's not really about beer. About 14 years ago, ticket holders would hang outside tailgating way beyond the start of the game, although beer was sold at the games! It became a major concern (especially after local news played up a shooting outside). Games are a draw for socializing/partying. College that banned frats and parties just drove drinking off campus. PARTEEE!

It used to be nice (when I was younger) to have a cold draft beer in the stands at the citrus bowl. Just sayin

We want a beer garden in the North Endzone!

Don't laugh at me, just laugh at Bianchi when he clicks on this thread thinking it is all about him and it isn't....

Good God you don't know the difference between a party and a UCF football game? How do you manage in life?
Hint: 1 is a public place, the other is private.
Football and music concerts have become an excuse for people with common interests and demographics to party.
