Watching Coppin State vs Georgetown. Georgetown has 9 new players. Established tradition. Established coach. Patrick Ewing is in his 6th season as head coach. He’s also establishing them getting worse each season he is coach. They were 6-25 last season. Ouch. Just pointing out this is college basketball for most programs for the foreseeable future….managing roster turnover.
Great players almost never make great coaches. The sport doesn't matter. He would have been gone a long time ago had he not been a great Georgetown player. It's sthe same in football, baseball, soccer, etc. Dawkins, great player, terrible coach. The qualifications are not interchangeable.
That's good news so the B12 teams should all struggle with that and UCF will be highly competitive for winning the conference just like in the AAC.

If Dawkins can't recruit good players that means players don't have confidence in him as a coach. He had plenty of time to build a top program and failed. If we can't win in the AAC we will get destroyed in the Big12.
We'll see if he can finish in the AAC strong.

Terry Mo was on 365 Sports last week talking about our entrance into the Big12. He made a jab at men's sports and said we've got some improving to do there. I thought it was interesting.
I watched the first 2 games and so far I‘m very impressed with what I see on the court. A lot of the rookie mistakes but the overall raw talent seems to be very evident in this young team.

FSU is terrible in their current state. Stetson beat them on pure luck shooting, nothing more. This win is nothing to get excited about
