Bernie Sanders, a deranged conspiracy theorist

They're dumb. The guy is a giant annoying douche that has no idea what he is ever talking about. He's a walking one liner. At least we'll be able to watch a civilized adult debate tonight because the big crybaby is afraid of Megyn Kelly.
This. Trump never really answers any questions. He has nothing but empty rhetoric and has no solvent plan. His idea of a campaign is merely to bully everyone and insult them. Megyn stood up to him and he's decided to run away. What a wimp. But then again, what do you expect from a guy born with a silver spoon in his mouth who could have just as easily grown his fortune in a savings account vs. multiple bankruptcy filings. He's in for a real culture shock if he wins that he can't declare the country bankrupt to get out of a mess.

This is Hillary's race to lose. It's all lining up for her.

If the Republicans can dispatch Trump and put Rubio up against her, she'll lose. 100%.

She has a horrible likeability and is viewed as someone who has abused power her entire life. She'll attempt to frame every attack on her as some faux war on women, desperately, and it will fail.

That's a big if right now. I'd prefer Rubio, too. I like Kasich myself.

Rand's gonna kick ass tonight at the debate. Rand was such a badass boycotting the last the debate, Trump tried to rip him off now. Rand's supporters are vastly under represented in the old people polling.

If you think this has anything to do with Megyn Kelly or Fox News you're not too bright. Trump is up in Iowa, all he could do tonight is hurt himself. He is the target everyone is after, now the target is Cruz. It's a very calculating political move. If it works, I guess he is smarter than you.

Lol, OK. Trump's numbers have only gone up after debates and he's been attacked in every one. He's a whiny baby that throws temper tantrums because he can't handle a woman standing up for herself. He called Kelly a bimbo, called Fiorina ugly. Those tactics will work real well in a general against Hillary.

It's quite simple, in politics when your up and close to the election all you can do is hurt yourself in a debate. Smart move on his part.

Megyn Kelly probably solidified herself as the best woman journalist in media today. She also grinded their balls into meat mincers and put them on the spot which was good to see.

I can see why Trump stayed away. If they did a video montage of his insane and conflicting statements his toupee would fly off.

What a contrast between last night and the fluffpiece "debates" that NBC and CNN hosted for the Democrats on Saturday nights for no one to see. Fox News, the supposed "mouthpiece" for the GOP, just put 1,000 stabs into each candidate.

Agree w my cuckservative pal above, liked how the moderators went on the offensive.

Also Rand won per the Washington Post (along w Megyn)

“Winners

* Rand Paul: Maybe the Kentucky Senator just needed to take a debate off. After not making the main stage in the 6th debate (and refusing to appear in the undercard debate), Paul was a major player in this one. He showed off his trademark willingness to needle the other candidates -- he went after Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz at various points -- but also offered nuanced thoughts on racial profiling and abortion. This was the Paul who many political observers -- myself included -- thought we might see in this campaign: A candidate willing and able to speak to issues his party has struggled to address in recent years.

* Megyn Kelly: There has rarely been a debate moderator who has come under as much scrutiny as Kelly has during the course of this campaign. Despite all of that negative attention, Kelly showed why she is the face of Fox News on Thursday night. She was pointed, tough and well versed on the issues. And, more important to me? She showed her sense of humor and a willingness to not take herself too seriously. That she performed so well with so many eyes on her speaks incredibly highly of her abilities.”

I don't mind Rand, aside from his tendency to repeat nonsense that his father used to push regarding isolationism, but his problem is that he barely has a pulse in Iowa. A place that Ron used to compete in quite strongly. The biggest problem is that Trump's wacko populist approach is drowning out people like Rand. And Rubio, Bush, Kasich for that matter. It's tough to win an argument on nuanced and thoughtful policy when Trump is screaming about banning Muslims, killing terrorists' families, seizing Syrian oil, and going birther on Cruz.

I still don't believe these polls. Not until actual votes confirm what they're saying. I do think we'll get a Cruz or Rubio victory in Iowa after they actually vote.

Ron was also old & old people do vote, but someone would have to sell me on the actual polling methodology cos everything I recall on polling is its straight out of the landline era vastly under/over representing people who still have landlines (dumb and/or old people especially in "with it" IA).

Rand's not an isolationist he simply believes we should stop giving our enemies weapons.

Most Republican primaries are closed meaning you need to be registered as an R to vote. I really doubt that these polls are only polling registered R's. My guess is that they're polling people who "say" they're Republican or actually getting D's responding to like Trump.

I read a poll recently that said 20% of Trump's support is from D's.

I thought it was refreshing not to have Dick Trump on stage. The guy isn't particularly smart and really doesn't say much of value. He'd be a disaster as the pick.

Ted Cruz gets on my nerves. Send his ass back to Canada.

Second only to Governor 9/11 on my shit list. But yeah Ted Cruz is a perfect example of what I hate about the GOP.

There are Republican Senators on record saying they'd prefer Clinton to Cruz as President. The guy has fostered an unreal amount of hate from everyone. If you read stories on him, he is apparently the most self-centered jackass in the Senate and his fellow Republicans absolutely hate him. I'm surprised McCain hasn't gone 'Nam on him yet.

I'm still baffled at how Bush isn't doing better. I understand he has the legacy of the name, but Trump, Cruz and Rubio sound like used car salesman compared to him. I don't even agree with him on many points, but I think he could do well as President.

Don't like Yeb cos I'm good on a "consverative" who has a nice family history of desert bombing & expanding the size of govt. He's Diet Dr. Obama 10 calories.

Good question, MAC. I really expected this to be his race. Some of this might be Trump though. Each of these individuals has to deal with Don's dumb crap and I don't think Jeb is comfortable playing games like that. Honestly, he's too smart for it.

I remember when Jeb ran against Lawton Chiles for FL Governor (and ultimately lost) but it was a great race to watch. Lawton was seasoned and great as a politician but Jeb was able to hold his own toe-to-toe.

Not smart, kind of funny coming from you. The man built a freaking billion dollar empire. And in his business that is not an easy thing to do. He also must be a good father, you never hear about his kids causing problems.

Easy, the guy is an empty suit. I worked with his company and quite frankly not impressed.

He's not particularly smart via politics. I'll give him his due in business. But when it comes to leading the country, there's a lot to be desired.

Big difference between Romney and Trump. I'd love a successful businessman as President but Trump is not one that I'd want. He may know how to get a lease signed or be on a TV game show but he doesn't know jackshit about running a country/military/foreign policy, etc, etc. He'd be worse than Obama and a lot worse than Clinton. How many times has he flip flopped on just Syria/ISIS in the last six months? Just let them kill each other, let Russia take care of it, Russia is evil, Putin is my best friend, let Assad kill ISIS, get rid of Assad, let ISIS kill Assad, kill all Muslims, carpet bomb ISIS.

Similar to Cruz, he'll say whatever that particular person wants to hear without really saying anything at all.

And the dumb ass gets called out on this and his response is "oh yeah, well you're a poopy face. You're a disaster poopy face!!! Let me ad hominem attack you until my wig falls off!!!"

Rinse. Repeat. Dry.

I like how Rubio complimented Rand by saying "He believes everything he says" implying everyone else on the stage doesn't.

You could say that about every candidate in the 2016 race. At least Trump is self made and is not looking to become rich in office. That alone separates him from most. You have to ask what their motives are.

You think his job is about signing leases? Really? Do you have any idea how hard it is to build a shed in New York let alone an 80 story building? It takes negotiating and give and take. You think he is a bull in a china shop, if he were he never would be what he is today.

Tell me what the hell did Obama know about anything? What the hell has Clinton ever done that was not calculated and manipulated?

as bad as Trump is he is miles ahead of the old white dem party. Hillary might finish the campaign facing criminal charges and Crazy Uncle Bernie would get destroyed by every Republican candidate in a debate.

Self made? Hmm. His daddy made a lot of stuff a lot easier for him as he started out.

Debates are supposed to be the candidates debating important and relevant issues among themselves. They're not supposed to be a forum for the politicians to debate the moderators. The first Fox News debate made the entire slate look like bickering schoolchildren as the moderators, your great Megyn Kelly included, pitted each against the other. Conversely, the democrat debates, as softball as they were, looked downright civilized and that won some people over. This debate did nothing to help the republican slate as a whole.

There is something horribly wrong with a Presidential primary debate where a "journalist" playing the role of moderator takes top billing. Save that for exclusive one-on-one interviews.

A major reason the debate looks like bickering school children is because the hairpiece and the Canadian are pedantic little asshats who don't know when to STFU. I have no problem with Megyn taking them to task. It's old-school journalism and I love it.

Now, I agree with you 100% about the tenor of the democratic debates. It's like the networks have paid the candidates to play nicely in the sandbox. But then again, there are only a handful of people on stage so it's easier, rather than the cattle herd that you've had for the initial republican debates.
