In the Dungeon it was posted about Memphis putting BLM on their helmets
. It created a locked thread.

I commented on it and my thoughts are college sports should not be politicized and BLM has created a criticized proof way of promoting Marxism through race. It's not my word , it's all over the BLM website. They want reparations, socialism and universal basic income for African Americans. It's truly what BLM is aiming for and they packaged the plight of African Americans to shield themselves from any criticism. If you do criticize their stance they then pull out the 45 magnum of politics and label you a racist.

The George Floyd event is an abomination to the Bill of Rights. It's tyranny and abuse of power. I am standing up and saying that is wrong but I can not align myself with the BLM organization or website.

I watch sports, college sports , UCF in particular for entertainment and it's a great escape from my weekly duties. I do not watch it to hear what players and coaches think about issues of the day. I don't watch it for politics and in fact since everything is being politicized these days, college sports is a last bastion of merit based competition. I just want to sit and enjoy a game.

Now concerning Memphis, I would suggest putting BLM on a helmet is endorsing everything BLM wants. A university should remain neutral on such things because some students want Marxism while others do not . It seems to be setting up a hostile environment for those student athletes who prefer free markets, the Bill of Rights and the Rule of law. Do we not take Into account those members of the team , coaching staff and even the band who might have sympathy and concerns regarding police brutality but appreciate the rule of law, the Constitution and free markets?

I am almost certain if there was a conservative group promoting black lives that many on the other side of the issue would be up in arms over it being on a helmet. I would be bothered by it as well.

My observation is for 3 or 4 hours on a Saturday we are all Knight's. For that time period we are united as one group of fans and alumni regardless of who we vote for on a Tuesday in November. That's the spirit of sport and competition. I don't want that ruined and if you and I vote diferently that's ok,but we should both want sport to remain apolitical as much as possible. Otherwise,we will see the game we all love ruined at worse and tarnished at best. This Knight and season ticket holder will eventually check out and say goodbye to college sports if it becomes another venue to be woke and protest. I am not paying to go to a political rally. I am paying to be entertained and get away from it all for a few hours. It is my hope UCF doesn't go down this path.

I'm for players finally speaking their mind, nothing changes when everyone is comfortable. That's when everyone retreats to their bubbles and do not want to confront some uncomfortable things this country has done or they don't care. It took protests on the scale of the 60s for the message to finally get through to different demographics.

The momentum for Juneteenth even by some GOP Senators made me think of this in how till just recently that it finally is being known or recognized by most of the general public which is kind of sad. And screaming 'Socialism' anytime someone marches for human rights is crying wolf, that's why specifically Millenials and Gen Z do not respond to that fear mongering. The 'Law and Order' fear mongering was used in the 60s and it's happening again.

Why in the world would a simple BLM sticker on a football helmet be deemed "political"?

What's "political" about a movement advocating against incidents of police brutality against African American people like what the world has seen in the video taped deaths of George Floyd, Eric Garner, and Elijah McClain?

A few years ago, the Iowa Hawkeyes had ANF stickers on their helmets. It stood for America Needs Farmers. An BLM sticker seems to me to be about as straightforward at that one.

If you consider BLM stickers to be a political statement rather than a peaceful call-out against systemic racism in our country, you should tell that to the UCF locker room where the majority of the Knight's student athletes are African American. God knows we wouldn't want to get "political" just because of a few Black deaths, right?

This. Tom Herman said this to the Texas fanbase, if you are going to pack a stadium with another 100k to cheer for them on the field you can't ignore their voices off of it. That's the 'shut up and dribble' mindset

It wouldn't be political if the American left would stop pandering and once again using their soft bigotry of low expectations to co-opt the movement.

WTF? What does protesting the abusive treatment of Blacks like Floyd, Garner, and McClain when detained by Police have to do with any of that far right nonsense you just spouted?

I do feel bad sometimes for chuds. Its like the world has moved on and left them behind. Supporting anti police brutality movements has near universal support. Thats why companies, schools, and orgs are all doing it now. Your last couple dozen years alive will be very angering to you but young people are in charge now and we have decided that racism is not cool anymore. You'll just have to insulate yourself from this so you dont get triggered. Just pretend that BLM stands for Blacks Love the Military or some other pseudo-patriotic bullshit and you can live out your final days watching football in peace without being bothered with issues like making sure black men arent killed by cops for using a counterfiet bill.

Lol...want me to share countless videos of cops getting assaulted by these mobs recently? Nobody is for police brutality, but now we are stereotyping all police and really making them targets. They have a right to live too. I'm not even old. Ha!
Youre at least 40 and you need to add 10 years because youre sort of dumb.

So, basically you want these young black athletes to shut up, continue abusing their bodies and working their asses off, and provide you with entertainment, but don't bore you with the problems that are important to their everyday lives?

Nothing but a gladiator show for you simple minded savages. Keep the commoners entertained, and shut up.

Agreed 100%, the issue is the message can’t be corrupted and that’s up to the BLM movement. I understand BLM is made up of many chapters but when one of your biggest chapters releases a statement supporting Palestinian, right wrong or indifferent your message about police brutality and equality for black lives is diluted.

I would fully support something about equality for black lives on UCF uniforms, I can’t support BLM knowing the causes they support outside of equality are so vastly different than mine. Considering the amount of money I have given to UCF over the past 30 years, I would take a serious look at that continued support.

Black lives matter is a simple statement that is resonating with people all around the world.

People who politicize it look for reasons to politicize it for some weird reason.

Oh look the most ignorantly privileged poster on this board supports "equality." 100% chance that in his mind that just means everyone pays the same taxes.

The dude who just inherited guns worth probably 4x the average black family's entire net worth is here supporting "equality" but threatening to pull his donation to UCF if they make a simple statement of support that Black Lives Matter.

This is what I mean when I say the world has left yall chud shitheads behind. You're so tone deaf that you're still fighting this battle and its already over. The vast majority of americans are not afraid to say the words Black Lives Matter.

Me personally i don’t care what goes on the helmet. However, I do think It is possible to Support Black Lives Matter the ideology without supporting the Group Black Lives Matter.

The theory Black Lives Matter, in principle makes a ton of sense and is really easy to support.

The group BLM, however, is harder to support for some due to the actions by members or people who claim to be members. Their conform or be ousted mentality goes against the fundamental equality in freedoms the group preaches. Once again, not all of them, just some of them.

You want recruiting to fall apart at UCF? let media report that fans are threatening to pull donations if UCF acknowledges BLM with a helmet sticker. It would be an optics disaster. To be honest I expected this type of paranoid reaction at a place like Ole Miss, not UCF

99% of the people supporting black lives likely have no idea, or don't care, that there is an actual organization using the phrase. Then another 99% of those people don't know there is a reference to Marxism (AHHHH!!! SCARY!!!!) on their webpage. It is nothing more than another way to put down people who support a movement for equal rights. It has already happened many times before, and will continue to happen as long as those who harbor racist beliefs have a platform to push them.

So... say no black athlete was any good at sports or even played on a team. Would any of these colleges be putting anything on uniforms. Is this all about kissing someone’s ass, recruiting, etc. or is it really sincere?

Personally, this whole BLM thing assumes that Black lives don’t matter or didn’t matter and I think that’s really a travesty, because 99% plus of police officers are good people who aren’t out to get young, unarmed black men. Statistics back this up

so what you’re saying is Cops are Covid and since less than 1% are fatal we all have to wear BLM Masks?

I just looked at the locked Dungeon thread on this topic. I’m just basically an “All Lives Matter” kind of guy. I don’t think that cops think of or are killing blacks like they are scum and I feel that BLM implies that. “Lives Don’t Matter.”

I also think that America is too violent and all races need to stop committing so much damn crime to put the police/criminal relationship in potential compromising situations. Criminals fukc up and so do the police.

That’s what this is all about

That’s why I thought the Chris Rock video was funny. An oversimplification, but funny and true

Of course all lives matter. But we're talking about police violence because it's becoming increasingly clear that all lives are not treated the same.

Can you seriously imagine a white Floyd, Garner or McClain being killed during a police stop for the offences these three were charged with?

Can you seriously imagine a white jogger being killed by three vigilantes for getting a drink of water at a construction sight?

The very notion that posters like you can shrug off the systemic racism found in law enforcement and justice in our country vividly illustrates why this is such a problem.

It’s isolated and actually statistically on the down swing. People of all races are murdered
“unfairly” by rogue cops, citizens, etc. It’s people like you that support organizations that engage in violent protests that result in more death and destruction that any unjustified killings in a decade or more

Your appeals to emotion are showing. People can think police need more accountability without bowing the knee to BLM.

the problem isn’t saying Black Lives Matter. The problem is BLM the organization has constantly attacked people via social media and have had subsets of their group burn and loot. Its the Pack mentality of either you’re with BLM or you’re a racist who hates Black Lives.

the ideas don’t have to be married. Look at the woman who stood during the soccer match Rachel Hill. She spoke with her teammates and stood cause her family was military, but she had a shirt on that said BLM and had her hand on her teammates. BLM activists shredded her entire social media posts and when black people came to defend her they ripped them too for being traitors to the cause.

what is the cause if you attack and berate anyone who doesn’t agree 100%? The answer is you have no cause.

Do police need to be trained better? Yes.

Do police need to be more accountable? Yes.

is there a race problem in America? I’m sure in some areas.

The problem is you can’t say the police incidents are racially motivated. I think you can say cops have a problem dealing with minorities and you’d still be incorrect but you’d be closer to the truth. Floyd and the rest weren’t killed because they were black. They were killed because the cops were incompetent.

how you fail to see the difference is just astounding. Not everything has a race motivator. Could race be a component? Sure. But Its one Of many factors. None of those cops set out to kill a black that day. And if they did show me where the evidence is that they purposely only killed the person because of their race. If they didn’t then STFU and scream about better police training.

BLM is losing their steam and their way by having a portion of radical people burn, loot, and harass people who don’t bend the knee.

I support blacks who want to be safe and live a better life and make a change in the way their communities are viewed through education and accountability in policing.

I don’t support the BLM organization.

See the difference?

A million is the minimum for a middle class retirement. If youre tracking behind that you should increase your 401k contributions.

When the police are keeping the statistics, what the f*k do you expect?

Deaths in the hands of police like the ones that we've seen recently on cellphone video would NEVER have been reflected in your so-called statistics because they were reported as "health-related" deaths for crying out loud!

People of all races are murdered
“unfairly” by rogue cops, citizens, etc. It’s people like you that support organizations that engage in violent protests that result in more death and destruction.
WTF? So joining those people...oops, excuse me, "organizations" protesting police violence only makes matters worse.

You have already been owned. Perhaps you need to address that first. Take a break and STFU with your arrogant bold type, rolling eyes emojis, and italics. Stop acting like you are important or the WC God and maybe somebody will pay attention to you in Nebraska

For the most part, I attempt to engage in actual discussions despite the usual insults I receive back in response -- you know, ones like this gem above.

In order for me to have been "owned," you would have had to share something more than your "just a few bad apples, nothing to see here" line of bullshit.

Good grief, you people always want to talk about everything BUT the behavior of police towards Blacks. Somehow whining that "we just need to lower crime" is an answer. Last I checked, the crime of selling illegal cigarettes, trying to cash a counterfeit check, and walking home with ... gasp!...a face mask...aren't typically reasons for the cops to use deadly force.

But instead of talking about the actual issue at the heart of this debate, you people always fall back on the same, tired old racist crap about those people (oops, I mean The BLM Organization) wanting anarchy so... ACK!!!!...protect your women and children.*

WTF??!? A call goes out for police to treat Blacks with dignity and respect and your response is don't bow to the BLM???

Tonight we learned that three police officers in the Aurora Colorado police department -- you know, the same department responsible for killing a young Black man who was simply walking home from his local 7/11 without any charges being filed -- were fired because, get this, they made a photograph making fun of the choke hold used on that kid.

Tell me again this issue is really all about the BLM Organization.

Find me a single person that has defended the cops in any of those situations.

Right, you all obfuscate by talking about every g'damn thing BUT what the cops actually did and how this BS needs to stop.

The appalling actions of those Aurora police (taking photographs making fun of the choke hold?) tell me the issue is more than a problem of racism. It's also a morality problem. Police officers making fun of the way an innocent man died while in their custody is about as morally repugnant as it gets.
