Brandon Wimbush

The biggest difference I see in Brandon and Darriel is demeanor. DJ is vocal and emotional. BW is stoic. Interesting to see if/how that effects the competition. Mack better be working hard this summer, because Brandon will be. Its a case of a guy who knows this is his last chance versus a guy that is just starting out.
You never know what its going to take until you have to do it. Good luck to both.

It should be fun for him to experience the atmosphere of the 4th most difficult place to play as opposed the the 7th :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He wasn't good enough to start in P5. Hopefully he can beat out a fumble prone g5 qb that can't throw. Congrats on landing such a superstar!
Congrats on your runner up finish in the lawnmower bowl and all your QBs transferring out instead of in.

the impact that McKenzie Milton has on this Program can not be understated on and off the field. Credit to Heup and Lebby but it is obvious how much Milton being at UCF had to do with Gabriel committing, without KZ here he probably commits to USC. And there are reports that KZ was around the Football building for the weekend visitors, it's cool to see him invested and recruiting for the Program to remain good even if he is not the one taking the snaps for now.
Heck without KZ, does Heupel even recruit Gabriel? It seems like he was completely off the radar until around November before getting late offers from UCF, Georgia, and USC.

For all the prognosticating about Wimbush or Book "did this" or "didn't do that", looking at just the stats they are pretty similar for each having one full season:

2017 Wimbush: 136 of 275 for 49.5%, 1870 yards, 16 tds, 6 ints, 140 rushes for 804 yards and 14 tds. 13.75 yards per completion. Record of 8-3 (he didn't play one game; in their bowl game against LSU he only had 8 pass attempts and Book played a lot more....don't know if he got hurt or was yanked)

2018 Book: 214 of 314 for 68.2%, 2628 yards, 19 tds, 7 ints, 95 rushes for 240 yards and 4tds. 12.28 yards per completion. Record of 9-1.

All I can really take away is they are two different kinds of QBs. Book is more of a straight up passer but doesn't add any dimension to making plays out of nothing. Wimbush is not as accurate but can make plays with his feet. I just think Book is better for their system.

Here is a link to an interesting breakdown of the two:

Wimbush was 13-3 as starter. He played #2 Georgia, #16 Michigan State, #10 USC, #23 NC State, #13 Miami, #19 Stanford, #18 LSU, and #14 Michigan. Half of his games against top 25 teams and 7 against top 20 teams. Notre Dame played a much tougher schedule the year Wimbush started for the entire season. This year, their highest ranked team they played prior to Clemson in the CFP was Michigan. A game that Wimbush started and won. So comparing the stats of the 2 quarterbacks isn't exactly an apples to apples comparison.

I’m in the camp that believes DG got an offer a while ago and they just kept it quiet

Just wait until CJH starts coaching him up!
"Coach [Josh] Heupel appears to be very confident in how he can coach Brandon," Wimbush's mother, Heather, told ESPN. "I like his approach and he certainly has proven success as both a quarterback coach and player."

"Over the last two seasons, Notre Dame has exceeded 600 yards of total offense in a game three times and all three came with Wimbush under center."

You're idiotic to make such an assumption. Wimbush wasn't good enough to start against P5 opponents. Don't worry though, he should be able to put up great numbers in your cream puff league.

Huh? He was 10-3 in 2017 and something like 13-3 as a starter.

Who’s your team??

You scared???

Can you change your screename to Deezvaginuss?

Ok chief. He was 5-3 against top 25 P5 teams and 7-0 against all others as a starter. Had 30 touchdowns playing the toughest schedule in the nation in 2017. Sorry your team is shitty. Maybe go back to your own board.
