For all the prognosticating about Wimbush or Book "did this" or "didn't do that", looking at just the stats they are pretty similar for each having one full season:
2017 Wimbush: 136 of 275 for 49.5%, 1870 yards, 16 tds, 6 ints, 140 rushes for 804 yards and 14 tds. 13.75 yards per completion. Record of 8-3 (he didn't play one game; in their bowl game against LSU he only had 8 pass attempts and Book played a lot more....don't know if he got hurt or was yanked)
2018 Book: 214 of 314 for 68.2%, 2628 yards, 19 tds, 7 ints, 95 rushes for 240 yards and 4tds. 12.28 yards per completion. Record of 9-1.
All I can really take away is they are two different kinds of QBs. Book is more of a straight up passer but doesn't add any dimension to making plays out of nothing. Wimbush is not as accurate but can make plays with his feet. I just think Book is better for their system.
