BYU @ UCF: 3:30pm ESPN

Jacurri Brown’s clueless taunting penalty not only ensured we would settle for a field goal, it contributed to leaving too much time on the clock for BYU when they got the ball back.

How does a deep safety get beat; ball is under thrown; and still gets PI instead of an interception 🥴🥴🥴 FML

To be fair, the coaches recruited the players.
Oh for sure, but sometimes I think fans assume the talent is way better than it is and hyper-focus on coaching decisions. In this case, sucky coaches have recruited sucky players, and they are sucking at coaching them, and the players are sucking on the field. Suck-Fest '24 at the Bounce House.

Just start Rizk the rest of the season regardless. Taking scraps from the portal and hoping they learn on the fly in a one-and-done season is a recipe for losing. Recruit a QB, develop that QB, and invest in that QB. See McKenzie Milton.

It was against backups but Rizk certainly deserves the start. Dude was running on 110% adrenaline there. Appreciate the passion and he was definitely the best passer we’ve had so far

I just finished watching the game on DVR. Fast forward thru much of the byu juggernaut offense.

Jacurri two interceptions were all on him. Errant throws.

Rizk did look pretty good those two drives. BYU did not pull their starters. Rizk ran the hurry up offense pretty good. He looked extremely tired there near the end though. If he is starting next week he better improve his conditioning.

In hindsight and watching the game, UCF was in it for a little while. Just can't overcome two turnovers (The story of the season). I think the play calling was alright. BYU defense is really good, fast and aggressive. Their offense of course is clicking on all cylinders.

Refs looked to have called an even game. BYU had a lot of penalties.

That's a game UCF could have won (woulda coulda shoulda), if not for the Jacurri taunting. A Touchdown there would have had the game very close into half time. The two interceptions in the 2nd half were killers. He just overthrew both of them and right into a defenders hands.

I would like to see Rizk start next week. He looks like he has the 'it' factor.

Gus needed to call a timeout because Rizk could barely breathe. He had 1 more timeout. It was 4th down. Call the timeout. But Rizk fought through it. He better start. I can say I was at his first career start when he gets good. I really don’t know what Gus sees in practice. But it was visibly obvious KJ likes Brown and wasn’t happy Rizk did well. I don’t like it when players only root for their friends. I’m hoping Gus doesn’t play into this favoritism and he starts Rizk. If he is as good as he showed we could have something.

Rizk was running on pure adrenaline. Imagine sitting for a year and a half on the sideline as clipboard holder then getting inserted into the game for mop up. I'm sure if he starts this week he will be calmer.

It will be interesting who comes trotting out as QB1 against Arizona. It's also amazing that Vegas has UCF as 6.5 favorites without even knowing who is UCF Qb1. Is Arizona that bad?

In my opinion, and it's going to be an unpopular one, UCF lost that game on Jacurri Brown Inconsistent Qb play. The taunting penalty, the overthrowing receivers, etc. Is that coaching? somewhat. It that on player execution, 100 percent.

Gus did the right thing and pulled JB. He should have recognized that with KJ Jefferson on Game 1. So that's on coaching. However, I get you want to show confidence in a player, but when it becomes painfully obvious that a player doesn't have "it"....then next man up. It's just a shame it wasn't recognized in the off season. But, again, I'm just a critic and not at practices and just observer of what I can.

I'm hoping the ship turns around and we win out. We really need it. I hate pulling for a losing team and watching bad football.

Go Knights!

Got to go with Rizk he is the only who has done a positive thing. U may be right about the adrenaline but the others have been bad.

BYU was the better team -- bigger, stronger, tougher, faster. Having said that, I think it could have been a different game if Jacurri didn't have the taunting penalty at such a critical point at the end of the first half. That's where games are won or lost. Not only did it kill what had been a great drive (FG instead of TD), it meant UCF didn't get one more set of downs and that left BYU enough time to score that soul-crushing TD right before halftime. Then Brown throws 2 second-half INT's and it's over, but it was essentially over heading into the locker room at half. Losing teams make losing plays, and that was one for sure.
