Paraphrasing: This sounds like a crazy fiction plot but because we still can’t accept that Trump won the election we need to spend taxpayer money investigating. Better yet, we can smear the NRA at the same time even if we don’t find any process errors. So, wins all around.
This is yet another instance of the unprecedented US Government attack of anyone connected with the Trump campaign regardless of any reasonable suspicion than a crime has been committed. (And no, the fact that Trump beat Hillary does not constitute reasonable suspicion, even if James Comey can’t figure that out) These investigations are ruining people’s lives even when they don’t bring any charges or indictment. Innocent people are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on attorneys to keep from being charged with lying to the feds because of inadvertent memory lapses or misstatements. This is effectively persecution and it needs to stop.
