I think he kind of realized that there was a good chance he wasn’t getting his job back once healthy. Otherwise though, this was another case of Gus mismanagement. Even talked about giving Boomer too much responsibility last year that contributed to injury. What does he do this year? Puts him on kickoffs again and he gets injured again. Obviously he needs a good sports psychologist though
