Counties that hosted a 2016 Trump rally saw a 226 percent increase in hate crimes

Without reality? When Trump regularly spews racist garbage, we don’t need anyone in the media to ‘pin’ anything for us, it’s obvious for crying out loud.

And we expect our leaders to be influencers. That’s why we elect them. So it shouldn’t shock anybody that Trump’s hate is spreading like a red hat disease.

Give me some "Trump spews racist garbage" in the last year. I'd love to hear it. I'm a peace and love kind of voter and respect everyone. I think the narrative that we are all raging racists has played well in the liberal media.

You call people racist and lie about it, and think that a kids' life being ruined over a smirk is what he had coming to him.

Please stop trying to lecture anyone about blind hate. The shit you believe is spreading far worse than anything else in this country.

The media is pushing an agenda and so is a large swath of career governmental bureaucrats.

You're reasonable and intelligent so let's follow this train of thought through. Who controls the media and whats the agenda? What's the end game?

Career government bureaucrats is easier.... More power and control. Trust us, we will fix all your problems.

Good grief, have you had your head SO FAR STUCK UP, er ... stuck in the sand that you don't know? Really?

A simple google search will give you hundreds of quotes and documented examples.

Let me guess: They are all made-up by the fake news media, right?

I do laugh at these morons who call Trump racist or anti-Semitic amongst other things. Show me where he has done this? It’s a narrative that works when you have outlets like NBC and CNN that are willing to outright lie to their viewers.

It's not as simple as focusing on one boogeyman, like Soros or the Koch brothers, and saying that person is controlling the media to their own ends. It's that the majority of the media establishments, CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, Tribune, etc. have a good number of progressive-minded staff that are working with no regard to impartiality or being unbiased. They produce material that supports their viewpoints and don't produce (and sometimes actively ignore) material that doesn't support or negates their viewpoints. What results is a product heavily supporting one side over the other. It can, and does, happen either way but, as of now, it is heavily weighted to the progressive agenda.

The check and balances to this are journalistic integrity and standards. While those were held to as a strict code and journalists policed their own, you could feel confident that you were getting something that wasn't biased propaganda. When they gave that up in favor of headlines and sensationalism to drive clicks and subscriptions, they lost their center. Which is why you are having a problem finding someone to believe.

However, with Trump, the bias is no longer unconscious or covert. Plenty have come right out and shown their avarice towards anything on the right and hatred of Trump.

You people are either deliberately trolling for a reaction or are naive as hell. How many examples of blatantly racist language do you need?

Give me an example of racist Trump language in the last year? A real example and not words twisted to mean something that wasn't said.

Ok so here's the thing. I can personally only go by what I read and what the "climate" feels like. I personally have had no issues with red hats or whatever we want to call them nor have I had any dealings with black nationalists and the like. Things have been pretty status quo for me other than the obvious media shit.

So I just happen to see that article I posted. Yes, it talks about reported crime and not convictions so obviously taken with a grain of salt there but it's incredibly disturbing to dismiss summarily. Like fake news or not I can't help but see that there is some truth to this culture war idea and that of course there will be spill over.

OK then to 85s point, I'm sure it comes from both ends. It's clear in the digital age we insulate ourselves more and more in echo chambers and that leads to unrest when actually forced to face the other side in the real world. So I just looked up rise of hate groups to get a better idea of WHO.

-------------------------------

The most significant growth was in the number of white nationalist organizations, up from 100 in 2017 to 148 in 2018, said Beirich, who wrote the report. It marks a resurgence in the aftermath of the massive rally in 2017 in Charlottesville, Virginia, that focused attention on the movement. "Much of the energy on the radical right this year was concentrated in the white supremacist milieu," the report says. "After a lull that followed the violence in Charlottesville, which brought criminal charges and civil suits that temporarily dampened the radical right's activism and organizing, newer groups gathered momentum."

Hate group count hits 20-year high amid rise in white supremacy, report says

OK so wtf is it? Is the FBI and the SPLC data wrong? Partly true? People hate the SPLC so what do I do with this... Just dismiss it? Well then WHERE CAN I GET THE TRUTH FROM?

This is getting really fuking dangerous when you have large groups of people just dismiss shit bc of "fake news" .

It's frustrating. Things feel different. You read articles that point to that feeling They're doubted by half the populace bc they don't want to be lumped in even though they're reasonable people. We get nowhere.
Heres where you went wrong:

I go by what i “feel”. Im sorry you millenials got duped into thinking your feelings matter, but facts are more important than your feelings.

soooo you couldn’t locate an example?

soooo you couldn’t locate an example?

Good grief, you people are ridiculous. When Trump University was being sued for being an educational fraud, President Trump railed that the Federal judge overseeing the case (a Hispanic born and raised in Indiana) was biased against him because “he’s a Mexican” who was “against his border wall.”

Okay, gang, how are you going to spin away THAT one?

LOL. If Trump is so squeaky clean, why put a one year qualifier on it? :)

Since he has been president things get well documented and not some disgruntled accusation from 30 years ago. People like to toss out someone is racist without any merit because it immediately puts the person on defense. Just the fact that we can't even have a real Trump hate crime proves that liberal narrative. 23 fake hate crimes which constantly grows.

Where I went wrong? I was simply stating my view is shaped by my experience and what is presented to me as fact. I stated that my experience has been benign. I also only pointed out my sense of things seemed to be in line with what is being presented to me as fact. The discussion is about things being presented as factual that might not actually begin so and how frustrating it is. The idea is NOT to just rely on feelings as you put it.

What the hell are you even talking about? Where you went wrong is so quickly wanting to label someone (in this case a millennial) so you can dismiss them bc the part of "that group" . YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM . You're not interested in an exchange of ideas.

That isn't racism. If the quote had only been "he's a Mexican", that would be racism. The following statement is a qualifier, and while the whole thing was a pretty stupid thing to say, it doesn't indicate racism as much as it does political nationalism

He had Mexican heritage but he was an American. Are only white men allowed to be judges in trumps many many many many lawsuits?

Disgruntled accusations from 30 years ago? The one I quoted on this page was said since he's been President. Calling the Charlottesville white supremacists "very fine people" was also made during his Presidency.

Oh, it was the damn media in bed with each other that covertly changed my support for GWB!

All this time I’ve thought it was because Bush lied about WMDs to justify a military invasion of Iraq. Silly me.
Corrupt Republican Party will sell its soul (and their mothers) for a buck.

You can just feel the hate increase with FRUMP

No, but a judge who has political bias against one party shouldn't be allowed to preside over a hearing. IMO, Curiel has been impartial and ultimately handled that case appropriately. Trump was stupid to make that comment, but it didnt strike me as racist.

Trump had no reason to think that the American judge didn't like him except for the judges race.

In other words, I punked your ass again. :)

Next time STFU when you have no response to Trump's "Mexican" judge complaint.
