Deion Sanders linked to UCF job if Gus retires

Yeah I think the word “linked” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. One random guy that is throwing darts writing an “if Sanders were to leave Colorado” piece is not exactly what I would define as ‘linked to’.

Like others have mentioned, there will be other (more lucrative) opportunities when he leaves Boulder (which he will).

Deion is making $6 million/year. If he is jumping to another school it would be for at least $8 million/year. Which would be double what UCF is paying Malzahn.

I was skeptical but he has Colorado playing great down the stretch.

But like the article mentioned UCF is most likely to give less full control than he currently has at Colorado so for that reason alone it probably has no chance of happening.

I agree. I don't think he will go anywhere that doesn't give a free rein.

Five-star quarterback Julian Lewis, the No. 2 recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300, announced his commitment to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday's episode of "The Pat McAfee Show."

Lewis, who had been committed to USC since August 2023, decommitted from Lincoln Riley's class Sunday. Lewis, from Carrollton, Georgia, had recently been on an unofficial visit to Georgia and showed interest in Indiana.

I don't think FSU is on the table. So just imagine him at UCF. I don't think the NFL is calling for him. So where else in Florida??
So he is going to take a pay cut to come to UCF? It's one thing to buyout Malzahn, which I think should be done. However, don't see how they are freeing up a minimum of $35-40 million to lure him away, if he wins the conference it will probably take $50+.

I still don't know why you all think he would be interested in coming to UCF.
Because he's from Fort Myers, played at FSU, and would OWN the state in recruiting. We aren't usf, FAU, or FIU. No other P4 jobs in Florida are available to him.

FSU is not calling. If they did, it would take a whole lot of money. They're not giving him control like Colorado. We just might. UF wouldn't hire a former FSU player to lead their football program. Neither would Miami if they were looking. So who else in Florida does that leave?

Hey, I was born in Mississippi and I went to school there for two degrees, but it doesn't mean I want to go back and live there.

First we need Gus to be gone which apparently is no guarantee

also would you give Deion more control? It puts the University in a real weak spot if for some reason it doesn’t go well but if he brings 5 star QBs maybe UCF doesn’t care.

Also money is a real issue that Tik Tok Terry made worse giving Gus an extension.

Florida is a destination state not many other states can say that. When I was being recruited from the northeast there was only one state that I considered. Been here for 4 decades Quality of life here is pretty good

But everyone is different. I never thought I would retire in Florida. I always thought I would retire in the mountains out west or the mountains here in the east. Then all of my family moves to florida and here we are. Circumstances play a big role in where we go. One man's destination state is another man's . . . . .

It took till today 11:59 AM for someone to state the obvious- shocking- Who the hell thinks Gus is retiring??? Been away for the week so maybe I missed something.

We will be under six wins next year, with a massive loss of donors and ticket sales. **** Terry Mohajir!

Perfect excuse for Mohajir and Malzahn to give themselves extensions. They can use UCF media to say the fans aren't giving them enough money to succeed.
